The Airstream Hotel, a glamping site in Thuringia – Germany, makes your dream come true.   The accommodation The authentic American caravans were built in the 1960s and have a retro interior that has been slightly updated to create more space. For example, they now have larger and more comfortable beds. All Airstreams have been restored with great attention to detail, preserving the luxury of the swinging sixties. The caravans accommodate 2 to 6 people, depending on the type, and mostly do not have sanitary facilities (or only cold water). The campsite’s sanitary facilities are within walking distance. It is possible to rent a portable toilet for a small additional fee. There is a small seating area, which can also serve as an extra sleeping place, and a compact kitchenette with a stove or hotplates, a fridge and a sink. The caravan has cold running water and heating.   The facilities The retro Airstreams are located on a small-scale glamping site in Jena, Germany. There is a swimming pool close to the campsite, and behind it a river where you can take a boat trip. At the kiosk, you can order breakfast for the next morning. There is a playground for the children, and you can rent bikes here to explore the area. You can also use Wifi for free.   The surroundings Jena’s city center is about a 20-minute walk from the glamping site. For example, you can visit the Romantikerhaus, the Planetarium, and the Botanical Garden here. The many museums and the beautiful university are also worth a visit. Hikers and other active guests will love it here too; there are many beautiful hiking trails running through the Oberes Saaletal nature reserve. Admire the beautiful Saale valley from the Jenzig or Kernberg. The Saale cycle route takes you past romantic castles, through nature, and lush green vineyards. The mountains around Jena are also ideal for mountain bikers. Culture enthusiasts should visit the Leuchtenburg near Kahla and the Dornburg castles.   Extra facilities You can also rent the vintage caravans as 'hire-to-drive' – go on a trip with your own retro trailer.   Displayed prices are based on the price per night during the low season.
