Camping "Am Leuchtturm" - Cabins Lower Saxony

Camping "Am Leuchtturm" is located on the Krautsand peninsula, exactly halfway between Cuxhaven and Hamburg. About 400 people live on the island and time seems to have stood still here. No hassles, no stress – just peace and relaxation at this glamping spot in Germany.

The cabins at Camping "Am Leuchtturm" are each 9 m³ and accommodate up to 3 people. Inside, there is a sofa bed combination, a table with four chairs, a coffee maker, and a sideboard with plates. In front of the accommodation, there is a small terrace where you can enjoy the sun.

The facilities at Camping "Am Leuchtturm"

Camping "Am Leuchtturm" is situated directly on the Elbe dike. From there, you can watch the shipping traffic on the Elbe to and from Hamburg. Around 80,000 ships pass the island each year. There is also a kilometer-long sandy beach on the Elbe, just 200 meters from the campsite. The campsite also has a large lake with a lawn where you can relax. At the kiosk on the site, you can buy fresh bread for your breakfast. In addition, there is a restaurant & café offering good home-style cooking as well as various cakes and pies. For our youngest guests, there is a uniquely designed playground with a wooden ship that features an integrated slide, a swing, a carousel, a climbing frame, and wobble boards.

The surroundings of Krautsand Island, Lower Saxony

The Kehdingen region is in the immediate vicinity of the campsite and is best explored on foot, by bike, or on the water. Kehdingen begins where the main roads end. Visit the blooming orchards, the beautiful old courtyards, the historic little harbors, and the peaceful corners in the old marshlands. Also, watch the birds in the colorful meadows behind the dikes. In summer, the water and beach of the Elbe are ideal for swimming or boating. Additionally, the well-known cities of Hamburg, Bremen, Bremerhaven, and Cuxhaven are all within an hour's drive from the campsite.
