General information

On a sunny valley hill in Beira Alta, richly wooded with mimosas, chestnut and fig trees, lies Quinta Chave Grande. This beautiful rustic glamping in Portugal offers you a real glamping experience in unspoiled nature.

The accommodation At Quinta Chave Grande, you'll find two types of safari tents, with and without private bathroom. The tents are set on a large wooden deck, are over 25m2 in size, and can accommodate 4 people (with bathroom) or 5 people. The beautiful safari tents are situated in shady spots with plenty of privacy. The large wooden verandas, lockable tent cloths and sturdy wooden furniture really make you feel like you are camping, but the luxury facilities provide that added comfort that turns camping into 'glamping'.

The facilities Each safari tent is fully equipped with comfortable box-spring beds for adults and a bunk bed for the children. In the 5-person tent there is an extra single bed in the bedroom with the bunk bed. The kitchen is fully fitted with all cooking utensils, including a 4-burner gas stove, a fridge, and a coffee maker. You also have a veranda, a large dining table, sun loungers and lounge chairs, and a barbecue. The bathroom in the 4-person tent has a shower, toilet, and sink. The sanitary facilities for the 5-person tent are just a stone's throw away.

The surroundings This nature-rich glamping in Beira Alta, Central Portugal, is located in a relatively undiscovered region where there is plenty to see and do. Beautiful authentic villages with weekly markets, gorgeous nature areas like the Serra da Estrela, historic cities such as Viseu and Coimbra, and less than an hour's drive away is the Douro Valley with its many stunning port wine vineyards. The beautiful city of Porto, whose old center is a UNESCO World Heritage site, is only a 2-hour drive away. Of course, you can also pursue active pastimes; hiking, cycling, mountain biking, stand up paddling, go-karting and horseback riding are all possible. The wide sandy beaches of Aveiro on the coast are also worth a trip.

Extra facilities The glamping has a large (saltwater) swimming pool, a tennis court and ping pong table, and a children's playground. In the café and on the campsite terrace, you can enjoy a nice drink or ice cream. Around Quinta Chave Grande there are several car and cycling routes that take you through the beautiful area. Every week, provided there are enough participants, there is a barbecue night and a Portuguese evening with delicious regional dishes. You can also join an excursion to visit, for example, some of the Port houses along the Douro.
