Looking for a relaxed group getaway by the water? At Recreatiepark Tolplas 18 you stay in a modern, ground-floor lodge just a short walk from the beautiful recreational lake De Tolplas. The lodge is detached, so you’ll enjoy plenty of privacy and space with your group of up to six people.

Inside you’ll find a cosy living room where you can sink into the sofa after a day outside, play games together or share a drink. The open-plan kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook for the whole crew, including a dishwasher and microwave. No arguing about the dishes afterwards – just more time to chill.

The lodge has three comfortable bedrooms, making it a great choice for friends travelling together. One of the rooms has a fun bunk bed, which also makes this place suitable if someone brings a younger brother, sister or cousin along. There’s a neat bathroom and everything is on one level, so you don’t have to deal with stairs.

Slide open the door to your private, roofed terrace and garden. Start your day with coffee in the fresh air, have long talks at the outdoor table, or end the evening under the stars. The lake and the paths around it are just around the corner, perfect for a quick walk, a run or a relaxed stroll with your dog.

Yes, dogs are welcome at this lodge (1 pet allowed), and the surroundings of Hoge Hexel are ideal for scenic walks. Fancy a longer hike? The wide landscapes of Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park are a short drive away – great for nature lovers and anyone who wants to get active in the outdoors.

Craving a nice meal out? During the temporary closure of the on-site restaurant (13 Jan–4 Feb 2026), you’ll still find plenty of cosy cafés and restaurants in the area, from rustic spots in the countryside to inviting places in nearby Almelo. In the welcome folder you’ll find tips for local favourites, so you can easily head out for drinks, dinner or a long lunch.

Planning to celebrate New Year’s Eve here? Fireworks are allowed in the holiday park. On site you can ask where the designated area is and help keep the park clean by tidying up any firework waste afterwards.
