On the "Cast Away" island of Tiengemeten you will find the most unique place in the Netherlands to spend the night. This special place can only be reached by a small ferry, where cars are not allowed and you are surrounded by beautiful nature and hundreds of different birds.

The Safari tent has an interior of 9 square meters and a terrace of 6 square meters, with a lovely bench, and is fully equipped. There are two bedrooms. At Cast Away you enjoy the wonderful outdoors easily and carefree.

    Beautiful location to unwind. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. We had included wellness, but unfortunately the hot tub was not really "hot" with these inclement temperatures. Also, the gas bottle of our dome was empty and no full bottles were available. We were prepared for cold, but this was really cold!!!

    First of all: the location, the dome tent and the view are absolutely fantastic. It is a unique and romantic experience that I can definitely recommend. A special compliment to the friendly staff 5 stars.10 stars for the woman waking up in my arms. To properly prepare future guests, I am sharing my detailed review. Highlights & Positive Points. - Beautiful location: The view from the dome is breathtaking and the location is super. Very close to nature. - Hospitable staff: friendly and helpful. - Unique accommodation: The dome tent is beautiful, well insulated (against noise and cold) and waterproof. In case of rain you don't have to worry about leaks. - Good shower in the sanitary building. The shower has nice hot water with reasonable pressure. - Hot tub and sauna are shared which created pleasant conversations. Points of attention & suggestions for improvement Despite the top experience, there are some things to consider for a comfortable stay: 1. Comfort and Furnishing of the Dome - Chairs: The chairs in the dome are not comfortable for long periods of time. - Storage: There is little to no storage space for clothes. - There is a lack of a table to put a drink on, read a book or put your things on, for example. - Make sure there is a full gas bottle in the stove when you book a dome. 2. Amenities and Facilities - No electricity or water: There is no electricity or running water in the dome itself. Bring a thermos if you want to enjoy the view with a hot drink without having to go to the restaurant. - Minimal Lighting: Lighting is atmospheric but minimal, consisting of candles and one lamp provided. 3. Sanitary Facilities. - Primitive feel: The sanitary block feels a bit primitive. - No dishwashing facility: There is no place to wash your coffee cup or wine glasses, for example. - Slow hot water tap: The hot water at the sink takes a very long time to heat up. - Changing room: Changing clothes in the shower room is difficult because the floor gets wet and there is no place to sit. Wellness: difficult to change clothes and when it rains your clothes get wet. Bring a robe is the advice. Tips for Future Guests - Bring an extra blanket, especially in the cooler months like October and November. There are extra blankets, but better sure than uncertain. - Bring a thermos and water bottles to have water on hand in your dome. - A power bank is essential for charging phones. - Be prepared for the "back to basics" atmosphere in terms of staying overnight in the dome. 4. Safety: Carry a co2 detector. Hang a fire extinguisher at a central point on the campsite, after all candles pose a risk. The restaurant's aed is better placed in the washroom building in a box. This way it is better highlighted and you can grab it at night. Conclusion: We enjoyed our stay and the unique setting is unforgettable. With the above tips and the expectation of an adventure with a little less comfort, you can have a great time here.

Voorzieningen en Faciliteiten · Geen stroom of water: In de dome zelf is geen elektriciteit of stromend water. Neem een thermoskan mee als je van het uitzicht wil genieten met een warme drank zonder naar het restaurant te hoeven. · Minimale verlichting: De verlichting is sfeervol maar minimaal, bestaande uit kaarsen en één meegeleende lamp. 3. Sanitaire Voorzieningen · Primitief gevoel: Het sanitair blok voelt een beetje primitief aan. · Geen afwasmogelijkheid: Er is geen plek om bijvoorbeeld je koffiekopje of wijnglazen af te wassen. · Trage warmwaterkraan: Het warm water bij de wasbak duurt erg lang om op te warmen. · Omkleedruimte: Omkleden in de doucheruimte is lastig omdat de vloer nat wordt en er geen plek is om te zitten. De aed van het restaurant kan beter in het sanitaire gebouw geplaatst worden in een box. Zo wordt deze beter onder de aandacht gebracht en kun je hem ook in de nacht pakken. Conclusie: We hebben genoten van ons verblijf en de unieke setting is onvergetelijk.
