Surrounded by forest and birdsong, this cosy cottage between Höör and Hässleholm is the perfect hideaway in the heart of Skåne. Just outside the small church village of Tjörnarp, you stay on a peaceful, hilly plot with plenty of privacy, yet with easy access to everything the region has to offer.

You enter the cottage through a lovely glazed terrace – ideal for your morning coffee on cooler days. Inside, everything is smartly laid out: a bedroom with a comfortable double bed, a well-equipped kitchen where you can easily prepare your meals, and a bathroom with both washing machine and dryer – very handy for longer stays. In the living room you’ll find a small dining corner, a comfy sofa, TV and a cosy wood-burning stove that creates instant atmosphere on cooler evenings.

On the same plot there is a simple but charming guest house with two additional beds – perfect if you’re travelling with friends, older kids or another couple. Next to it you’ll find extra storage space for your gear. Outside, several terraces invite you to relax: sink into the outdoor furniture, sway in the hammock or stretch out on the sun loungers by the more secluded guest house. In summer, the lush garden comes to life with blooming flower beds, shrubs and trees all around the natural plot.

The small family or couple who loves peace, nature and outdoor living will feel right at home here. You can even borrow bicycles from the owner (2 men’s and 2 women’s bikes) to explore the rolling countryside at your own pace. A couple of kilometres away lies Tjörnarp Lake with a bathing area, boat rental and fishing possibilities – perfect for a refreshing swim or a quiet day on the water.

Hikers are in for a treat: the famous Skåneleden trail and several other scenic walking areas are nearby. For a fun family outing, Skånes Djurpark is just over 15 km away, and in the same distance to the north you’ll find beautiful Hovdala Castle with its restaurant, café and elegant castle park. On Fridays and Saturdays, don’t miss the gourmet pizzas at the cosy country café (Lantkaféet) in Tjörnarp. Here, you combine tranquil forest living with surprising culinary and nature experiences right around the corner.
