Step into this freshly renovated guest cottage and enjoy a relaxed stay right by the beautiful, mile-long Bullaresjöarna lakes in West Sweden. This cosy hideaway is perfect if you love being outdoors – whether you want to paddle, hike, cycle, climb or go for long walks in the forest.

Just a few metres from the cottage you’ll find the clear waters of Bullaresjöarna, with several swimming spots and places where you can rent a canoe or boat for paddling and fishing (don’t forget your fishing licence). Bringing your own canoe, kayak, boat or bikes? The launching ramp is only about 300 metres away and you have convenient parking right by the cottage entrance.

From the parking area you walk past the owner’s house to your own private entrance. Inside, you step directly into the practical kitchen, equipped with a stove, fridge and coffee maker – everything you need for simple holiday meals. Next to the kitchen is the living room, with direct access to the sunny south-facing terrace.

The cottage has two bedrooms, both with bunk beds: three beds are 90 x 200 cm and one is 120 x 200 cm, ideal for families or small groups of friends. There is also a bright bathroom with shower. On the south side you’ll find a lovely terrace with outdoor furniture and a barbecue – the perfect place to relax, eat together and chat about your adventures of the day. If you need to do some laundry, you can borrow the owner’s washing machine on request, and final cleaning can be booked for extra convenience.

Nature lovers are in the right place here. The surrounding forests are rich in wildlife – keep an eye out for birds and maybe even a moose. In late summer you can pick berries and mushrooms right from the woods. Nearby you’ll also find the Bohusleden hiking trail, the impressive 46‑metre high Älgafallet waterfall on the Swedish–Norwegian border, and the UNESCO‑listed rock carvings and museum in Tanumshede.

Fancy a day trip? Cross the border to Halden in Norway to visit Fredriksten Fortress, or drive to Strömstad by the sea for cosy streets, great restaurants, shopping, beaches and boat trips to the islands of the archipelago and the Koster Islands. In spring 2024, the nearest neighbours are opening a farm restaurant with street food – a tasty extra reason to stay here.
