Escape together to 'Marared' Gypsy Hut, a cosy shepherd’s hut on the stunning Llŷn Peninsula in North Wales. Hidden away in peaceful countryside and surrounded by an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this romantic hideaway is perfect if you love nature but don’t want to give up comfort.

From your hut you look straight out over the dramatic Yr Eifl (The Rivals) mountains. You’re close to the border of Snowdonia National Park and just a short drive from the famous Italian-style village of Portmeirion – ideal for day trips before you retreat back to your own quiet corner of Wales.

Inside, Marared feels snug and welcoming. The compact double bed is perfect for two, with bed linen waiting for you. There’s a fully equipped kitchen with oven, hob, fridge-freezer and a charming Belfast sink, so you can easily cook your own meals. The ensuite shower room has a flushing toilet and hand basin, plus eco-friendly toiletries and soft towels, so you can pack light.

On colder evenings, light the wood-burning stove and get properly cosy – your first night’s logs are included. There’s also a towel radiator to keep everything warm and dry, and an Anker Bluetooth speaker so you can add your own soundtrack to the sunset.

Outside, you’ll find a fire pit with logs provided, perfect for simple outdoor cooking or just sitting together under the stars. There are tables and seating both inside and out, so whether the weather’s calm or wild, you always have a comfortable place to relax and take in the views.

Each of the five bespoke huts on site – Joan, Susannah, Angharad, Marared and Elen – has its own individual character and style. Parking is conveniently available just behind your hut, and with a minimum stay of three nights, you really get the chance to slow down, breathe in the fresh air and unwind.
