I recommend you go elsewhere, even if you have to pay a bit more as there are plenty of superior sites and more welcoming hosts. The positives are that the location by the lake is pleasant. The toilets and showers were clean. It provides an ACSI discount off season (although even with this I’d recommend finding an alternative site). The negatives are the extremely poor attitude of the owner to paying guests and the many rules. On arrival you’re informed of some of these rules and presented with 2 page printouts of them (tbf some of it was info). There was no smile or welcome from the receptionist or the owner when we checked in. It was very frosty and we felt like they didn’t want us to be there despite our attempts to be friendly. If you’re using an ACSI discount then you need to pay cash. Despite all the rules and info provided this was something we were only told about at checkout. She said ‘it’s in the book’, presumably referring to the ACSI handbook which we don’t have. Fortunately we had the cash or I’m sure the owner would have insisted on charging us full price. When I said that we hadn’t been told about this she said ‘well it’s because you get the discount’. I told her it wasn’t a problem but that it surprised me as no other site we’ve been to has enforced a cash rule when using the ACSI discount. She replied very curtly and aggressively ‘my campsite my rules’ to which I pointed at the myriad of rules posted on sheets everywhere and said ‘yes I can see that’. She unfortunately took umbrage at this and began a tirade about how customers were so disrespectful. Just to note that at no point had we broken any of her rules nor had she accused us of doing so. It was a bizarre encounter. As the discussion continued I tried to explain that e.g. having multiple notices about not defecating in the showers isn’t going to deter the kind of person who would do that but it isn’t very pleasant to know about as a normal customer. However she was becoming increasingly belligerent and the discussion was getting nowhere so I cut it short. As I was leaving she again shouted at me that guests are so disrespectful to which I replied she hadn’t shown me any respect or even a basic welcome. She had no answer to this and simply said that I shouldn’t stay again to which I confirmed I wouldn’t. After I left she shouted not to slam the door (which I didn’t) then as we drove off she came out of reception and gave us the v sign. This woman has obviously been traumatised by guest behaviour. You only need to read some of the other negative reviews to see how she responds to customer complaints (or even just customer suggestions). So… my advice is to spend your money elsewhere with someone who understands hospitality and doesn’t take your money then treat everyone like they’ve pooped in the shower! Update: Following the owner’s response, it’s evident that she has fabricated these events to align with her narrative. The facts are that this was a brief overnight stay. We arrived at 1800, and the only other guests we encountered were the couple we greeted who were checking in before us. The campsite was practically empty. The only staff members we encountered were the receptionist and the owner herself, both during check-in and check-out. This entire interaction started during check-out the following morning. There were no disturbances, issues, or inappropriate behavior on our part; she is simply fabricating these claims. She was unhappy that I informed her that we were made to feel unwelcome by both her attitude and the many rules. Furthermore, she still misunderstands the nature of our complaint. We didn’t engage in an argument regarding the payment method. I casually mentioned that it’s the first time we’d been asked to pay cash for an ACSI booking but that it wasn’t a problem. It was her subsequent attitude that was the issue, evidenced from her aggressive shouting, and abusive gestures as we departed. Conclusion We do not intend to return to the establishment, and I would recommend others to avoid it as well.

Absolutely awful owner! Stay away! We found the campsite on ACSI & is okay when the weather is nice but when raining the spaces are mudslides, they could make the spots more accessible to motorhomes. Also there are so many trees that it can be tricky to park. You must all go to reception so they can put a wristband on you (god knows why as you are given no explanation) but what you are given is 4 pages of papers containing all the rules. There are so many rules placarded in reception that is difficult to see anything else. The receptionist which we assumed was the son (feel sorry for him really) and the owner (Mrs El Chappo as another review puts it) were both there but she never acknowledged us properly, not a smile, not a welcome. She just mumbled things in Italian to him behind her computer… he was pleasant enough but not a smile or warm welcome. We didn’t read the reviews before staying but we should have as most of the negatives turned out to be true despite the owner’s responses to review (one of which can only be described as racist towards British people). Do read them, it’s a real eye opener The pool was closed (nothing said about this on the website or on arrival) but you still pay the same price. The bathroom facilities are dated, nothing wrong with that other than the fact, it’s again placarded with rules, including a one way system of entering & exiting, despite the fact that you can’t open the exit…. There was no soap available in the washroom (they must think men don’t wash their hands after the loo) & also the funniest one was on each shower doors there was a massive note asking you not to defecate in the shower because as the sign read “it happened today”. There is another sign by the exit telling you not to put anything in the bin as the owner would have to put her hands in it and asking you “how would you like it if you had to put your hands in my bin?” I think you might find a lot of medication tablets mainly for stress… also, has the owner never heard of gloves? There is a huge emphasis on protecting the environment (including by paying cash, apparently it saves the planet - more on that later) and the bin system is the best (no sarcasm there). You do however have to make sure (another rule) that your dog does his/her business outside the campsite so make sure you choose a spot close to the entrance… unless you train your dog to pee on command… anyway, the owners are very concerned about the environment, so concerned that each guest gets pages and pages of papers with rules, plastic wristbands that are used once… The best part was at departure, the owner demanded to be paid by cash, stating “her camp, her rules” as we booked an ACSI rate. There is a paper in reception stating that paying by cash is environmentally friendly (give me a break!). Why not being honest and saying that she wants to avoid paying credit card charges? Which is understandable and nothing wrong with that… but no, it’s for the environment... However, I wonder how the “agenzia delle entrate” (Italian Inland Revenue) would respond to the owner forcing guests to pay cash. When we enquired about her request for cash, she took offence and started to complain about unreasonable guests. When challenged on her attitude, she became rude, making an interminable tirade of complaints regarding guests and how disrespectful guests are. My husband decided to leave it there and departed the reception area (after paying cash) She then precipitated to follow him out of reception because she thought he slammed the door (which he didn’t) and made rude gestures as we drove away. It’s a good thing that the campsite is closing for the season as the owner clearly needs a holiday or perhaps a career change? Once that doesn’t include hospitality as she does not know the meaning of the word. Edit: the owner answer is hilarious and a pack of lies, we were never asked to leave, the trouble started when we checked out and she took offence about our enquiry as to why we were forced to pay cash. Also only one staff there and just 6 other campers…
