By land, by water: get out into nature

In the area you will find beautiful nature where there are plenty of hiking and biking trails. Don't forget to admire the beautiful landscape from the water, too. Rent a whisper boat or go active kayaking or supping. Behind the campsite is the Mynekomplas, a beautiful piece of nature where you can spot beavers at night. For nature lovers, there is plenty of flora and fauna to discover in the vicinity of the glamping on the Meuse.

Tasting: Chocolaterie Bonaparte

Of course, Belgian chocolate should not be missing during your vacation! Chocolaterie Bonaparte is an artisan chocolate maker and store located in the historic center of Maaseik. Here you will find a wide range of homemade chocolates, including pralines, truffles, chocolate bars and much more. There are workshops and tastings where you can learn more about chocolate, its production and of course taste. A must-visit for all chocolate lovers.

Wine Estate Aldeneyck

Wijndomein Aldeneyck is an award-winning vineyard located next to Camping de Boomgaard. The wine domain is known for its excellent Belgian wines and you have the opportunity to enjoy a wine tasting on the wine terrace or in the renovated wine bar. On the wine terrace you can taste the wines of Aldeneyck extensively while enjoying a delicious cheese and meat board and enjoy the beautiful view over the vineyard. In the renovated wine bar you can enjoy an extensive wine tasting and various events and workshops are organized, such as wine and food evenings and workshops on wine making. Visit and discover Maaseik

Maaseik is a pleasant town 2 km from the campsite. It is best known for its historic center and its location on the Meuse River. Visit the Regional Archaeological Museum and learn more about the archaeological history of the region. Visit Maaseik's Town Hall, a beautiful Renaissance-style building dating back to the 16th century. St. Catherine's Church dates from the 14th century and has beautiful Gothic architecture. Inside, you can admire a number of valuable works of art, including some paintings by the famous Flemish artist Pieter Bruegel the Elder. And of course you can store in the cozy center with plenty of nice stores, boutiques and specialty stores. And at the market you can buy fresh produce every Thursday morning.

    We were here at the end of September. Reception was very stiff. Camping chosen for location on the Meuse. Unfortunately a piece where no sailing, no ship seen. Nice view, though and quiet.Cycling in the area is fun for 1 day. Toilet building is very outdated, not clean and smelled pretty bad. Probably will be better in summer,but now after 1 night moved on. The campsite is now listed in the Caravan, a somewhat too colored article though.

    Wij waren hier eind september. Ontvangst was erg stroef. Camping gekozen om ligging aan de Maas. Helaas een stuk waar niet gevaren wordt, geen enkel schip gezien. Mooi uitzicht, dat wel en rustig.Fietsen in de omgeving is leuk voor 1 dag. Toilet gebouw is sterk verouderd, niet schoon en stonk behoorlijk. Waarschijnlijk zal het in de zomer beter zijn,maar nu na 1 nacht verder gegaan. De camping staat nu vermeld in de Caravannen, wel een ietwat te gekleurd artikel.

    Quiet camper place right on the Maas. The places in front, right on the Maas have a very nice view. Direct access to hiking and biking trails. Been in November. Discharge point toilet cassette was very dirty. Not maintained! Dirty water discharge point not easily accessible.... Turn back, reverse maneuvering. The view of the Meuse is then again top.

    Rustige camperplaats vlak aan de Maas. De plaatsen voorraan, vlak aan de Maas hebben een zeer mooi uitzicht. Direct toegang tot wandel en fietspaden. In november geweest. Loospunt toiletcassette was zeer vuil. Niet onderhouden! Loospunt vuilwater niet vlotte bereikbaar... terug draaien, achteruit manuvreren. Het zicht op de Maas is dan weeral top.

    Our stay at the campsite on the Meuse was simply wonderful! The location right on the river is fantastic - perfect for walks, bike rides and relaxing by the water. We were particularly pleased that dogs are very welcome here! Our four-legged friend was allowed everywhere, even on the shore and in some of the cozy café areas. The sanitary facilities were very clean, the staff were friendly and helpful and the pitches were spacious. In the evenings you can enjoy beautiful sunsets over the Meuse. An ideal place for nature lovers, families and dog owners - we will definitely be back!

    Unser Aufenthalt auf dem Campingplatz an der Maas war einfach wunderbar! Die Lage direkt am Fluss ist traumhaft – perfekt für Spaziergänge, Fahrradtouren und zum Entspannen am Wasser. Besonders gefreut hat uns, dass Hunde hier herzlich willkommen sind! Unser Vierbeiner durfte überall mit hin, sogar ans Ufer und in einige der gemütlichen Cafébereiche. Die Sanitäranlagen waren sehr sauber, das Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit, und die Stellplätze großzügig angelegt. Abends kann man wunderschöne Sonnenuntergänge über der Maas genießen. Ein idealer Ort für Naturfreunde, Familien und Hundebesitzer – wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

    Nice campground overlooking the Meuse River. We could relax and all facilities were available. Only the plumbing is outdated but functional. We went for good food at restaurant down the street. Wifi is available at the campsite.

    Leuke camping met zicht op de Maas. We konden lekker relaxen en alle voorzieningen waren aanwezig. Enkel het sanitair is verouderd maar funktioneel. We gingen lekker eten op restaurant in de straat. Wifi is aanwezig op de camping.

    We stood side by side with other campers. It was unfortunately very windy. Sanitary building was not clean. No pin. Had to cash or bank transfer. Good drain plumbing for RV though.
