Explore Hoge Kempen National Park
Recreation Resort Wilhelm Tell is a glamping site located in Hoge Kempen National Park. Hoge Kempen National Park is a beautiful nature reserve in Belgium that covers more than 57 square kilometers. The park offers numerous hiking and biking trails through moors, forests and along lakes. There are several vantage points where you can enjoy breathtaking views. In the park you can also discover the rich fauna and flora, such as wild horses and rare plant species. There are also various activities for young and old, such as a barefoot trail, a climbing forest and a visitor center with interactive exhibits. And the nice thing, when you leave the glamping site you are therefore already directly in this beautiful piece of nature of Belgium!

Villages nearby
About a 30-minute drive from the glamping is Thorn. This picturesque village is also called the "White town" because of the white facades of the houses and monuments. In the village you walk through narrow streets, enjoy the beautiful town hall and visit the impressive abbey church. There are cozy terraces where you can enjoy a snack or drink. Another town nearby is Maaseik, about 20 miles away. This historic town on the Meuse has a rich history and that can be seen in the beautiful old buildings. The museum of the Van Eyck brothers is worth a visit. Maaseik also has several nice stores and terraces where you can enjoy a Belgian beer.
Active day on the Meuse
After a 20-minute drive, you reach the Meuse River. And how much fun is it to discover this piece of nature not from the banks, but from the water? At several places it is possible to rent a kayak, canoe or raft and discover Rivierpark Maasvallei. Spot Galloway cattle or wild horses during your trip, and enjoy the green surroundings. A fun and active outing for the whole family!
Imagine yourself in Japan
Are you making a trip to Hasselt? Then don't skip the Japanese garden! After a half-hour drive, you step out into a green world full of beautiful trees, bridges and streams. Watch a tea demonstration or take a course, calligraphy or origami. On Sundays and holidays, you can take a guided tour of the garden. That way you get to experience a bit of Japan, but from Belgium.

Deplorable welcome. Access to the toilets and kitchen is by card for a deposit of 50 euros. For 2 cards it's 100 euros! No explanation of how the card works. No hot water without it. But if you leave it in the slot provided for washing up, 15 euros are deducted from your deposit! Stealing...

When you go on vacation you are in a happy mood. When my friends arrived, they told us that we had to stand right next to them, and were told that we could leave if there were enough people. At sight a nice campground, but the access road is for driving in and out between people. Quite dangerous situations, where it ever goes well wrong. On arrival you have to park your caravan on the parking lot, but on nice days it's full of bathers in front of the swimming pool, and then there's nowhere to put it. Maybe a strip where you can set up without being in the way. If you shower every day for 3 weeks you will spend a fortune at least 1.50 to 2€ each time. Then there is a terrace where you pay elite prices, but it is plopped on the table by children. Then they can't calculate and you get an angry look when you say something that you don't get enough money back. Then you have the bingo for the local residents. There they charge normal prices for drinks, and for us on the terrace 2x as expensive. You do not feel welcome , with all the comments that you are free to go. I also feel squeezed with the different price lists. Then we have the cafeteria, get some fries, is not well done, and wanted to take it with us. Get it put on the counter SO without packaging, and they had no bags. There are professional prices, but run by kids who are drilled to get as much revenue out of it as possible. Plumbing clean well taken care of, just blood hot in that loft. Maybe the skylights ventilation. Pool has a lot of crooked tiles where you can hurt yourself. Maybe turn the reign of terror into a positive address, customer friendly.
