From your front door you walk straight into the forest – it’s only 100 metres away. A quiet lake lies just 1 km from the house, ideal for an early-morning walk, a picnic by the water or simply unwinding in the fresh air. Nearby you’ll find the Barrage de Nisramont, a great area for hiking along the reservoir and kayaking on the water. Fancy some culture and history? The medieval Château de La Roche-en-Ardenne and the Musée de la Bataille des Ardennes are close by and bring the region’s past vividly to life. Animal lovers can visit Le Parc à Gibier, where you can spot local wildlife in a beautiful natural setting.

    My wife and I, along with our two children (5 and 7), had a fantastic stay! The house was comfortable for the four of us and there were numerous fun things to do with the young children within a 15 to 50 minute drive. The beach at Maboge, the Furfooz nature reserve, a castle visit in La Roche-en-Ardenne, canoeing, a chlorophyll play forest, walks along the Ourthe River (a fantastic hike that starts almost directly from the house). The owners provided some wood to make our own fire in the fitepit in the garden (bring your own firelighter). We enjoyed our cup of coffee on the veranda in the morning sun. Shopping can be done less than 10 minutes away in Bertogne. We would love to return to enjoy the area again from the comfort of this cozy retreat in the woods!

    Mijn vrouw en ik, samen met onze twee kinderen (5 en 7), hebben een fantastisch verblijf gehad! Het huis was comfortabel voor ons vieren en er waren talloze leuke dingen te doen met de jonge kinderen binnen een straal van 15 tot 50 minuten rijden. Het strand van Maboge, het natuurreservaat van Furfooz, een kasteelbezoek in La Roche-en-Ardenne, kanoën, een speelbos met chlorofyl, wandelingen langs de Ourthe (een fantastische wandeling die bijna direct vanuit het huis begint). De eigenaren zorgden voor wat hout om zelf een vuur te maken in de fitepit in de tuin (neem je eigen aanmaakblokje mee). We genoten van ons kopje koffie op de waranda in de ochtendzon. Winkelen kan op minder dan 10 minuten afstand in Bertogne. We komen graag terug om weer van de omgeving te genieten vanuit het comfort van dit knusse toevluchtsoord in de bossen!

The house was very comfortable for the four of us, and there were countless great excursion destinations for the little ones within a 15 to 50 minute drive. The beach at Maboge, the Furfooz nature reserve, the castle in La Roche-en-Ardenne, canoeing, the playground in the Chlorophyll park and walks along the Ourthe (one particularly beautiful walk starts right by the house) were just a few examples. The landlords provided us with wood for a campfire in the garden (please bring your own kindling). We enjoyed our morning coffee on the waranda in the morning sun. Das Haus war für uns vier sehr komfortabel, und es gab unzählige tolle Ausflugsziele für die Kleinen im Umkreis von 15 bis 50 Autominuten. Der Strand von Maboge, das Naturschutzgebiet Furfooz, die Burg in La Roche-en-Ardenne, Kanufahren, der Spielplatz im Chlorophyll-Park und Spaziergänge entlang der Ourthe (eine besonders schöne Wanderung startet direkt am Haus) waren nur einige Beispiele. Die Vermieter stellten uns Holz für ein Lagerfeuer im Garten zur Verfügung (bitte bringen Sie Ihren eigenen Anzünder mit). Wir genossen unseren Morgenkaffee auf der Waranda in der Morgensonne. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gibt es in Bertogne, weniger als 10 Minuten entfernt. Wir kommen gerne wieder und genießen die Gegend erneut von diesem gemütlichen Refugium im Wald aus!
