General information

Looking for a relaxed getaway with friends in the Ardennes? Le Chession in Maboge is a cozy holiday home that puts you right between forest, river and classic Belgian charm. It’s made for small groups who love nature, good food and easy comfort.

You stay just 100 metres from the forest and about 1 km from a scenic lake – perfect for morning walks, trail runs or a quiet moment with a coffee. On warm days you can head to Maboge Beach on the Ourthe River for swimming, kayaking and sunbathing on the riverbank. Fancy a bit of culture between activities? The Château de La Roche-en-Ardenne and the Battle of the Ardennes Museum are close by and bring the region’s history to life. The Barrage de Nisramont is another must-see, with beautiful hiking routes and great chances to spot local wildlife.

Inside, Le Chession is warm and welcoming. There are three bedrooms, including one with a bunk bed and one with a children’s bed, so it also works well if someone brings a child along. The open kitchen is fully equipped with essentials like a coffee machine, oven and microwave, so you can easily cook together, enjoy late breakfasts or prepare snacks before heading out.

The living room invites you to slow down: relax on the sofa, put on a film on the TV, or dive into a movie night with the DVD player. There’s also a CD player for some background music while you chat, play games or plan the next day’s adventure. Electric heating keeps the whole place comfy in every season.

Outside, you have your own private garden with a terrace, barbecue and deckchairs. Fire up the grill after a day on the river, enjoy long dinners in the fresh Ardennes air and end the evening under the stars. Private parking makes arrival easy, even if you come with several cars.

Good food is never far away either. Within 5 km you’ll find Chez Henri for authentic Belgian dishes, Signe Jeanne for a solid steak with friends, and La Plume D’Oie if you’re in the mood for refined French cuisine.

Le Chession is pet-friendly too, so your dog can join the adventure. Forest walks, river fun, good restaurants and a snug base to come home to – it’s all here for your next group escape in the Ardennes.

Do not book this location! It is a heavily misleading ad. Chalet is severely outdated and in poor condition. Photos are from long ago and taken with wide angle lens. Path to cottage practically impassable for cars. My car could not get there, then you walk 10 min and up mountain... DO NOT!

Perfect stay! Totally secluded and perfect to have the weekend of your life with friends. Note: The road up by car is challenging though

Cottage is in a nice place but has some defects. It is also difficult to reach, through a steep gravel path, not good for your car. Gets very hot in summer. Would not directly recommend booking this.
