Great stay. Very clean and quiet.

Nice campground, but there were quite a few issues. For example, our “neighbors” from the Kempen were completely drunk on the first night and caused a lot of noise. After other campers and the night security guard spoke up, they finally stopped. The restrooms were inadequate. There were far too few toilets and showers for the number of visitors. The restrooms were also just plain dirty and gross. When it’s busy, you’re supposed to provide extra capacity and cleaning staff. There were technical problems as well. It’s not at all pleasant to have to shower when the drain isn’t working properly. I actually found myself showering in dirty water. It seems to me that Camping Kompas has lost its way. What a shame.

Good location. The dune landscape was a lovely touch, but the site isn’t suitable for large RVs. Hothup was okay. The private restroom/shower was out of service for one day due to technical issues. Two technicians and the manager came to check it out, and in the end we received a key and a restaurant gift certificate as an apology. The restaurant was crowded and noisy; there were technical issues there as well, so our food was forgotten. After 1.5 hours, we politely asked about it. The waiter was clearly embarrassed and did everything he could to make it up to us!! The staff was friendly and helpful, but overall there’s still room for improvement!! At check-in, unfortunately, no one spoke German, their English was poor, and there was no orientation.
The playground for kids was well-designed, but there wasn’t a single shaded spot for parents and children. An ice cream truck also stops by twice a day. The beach is nearby, and there are good bike paths.... Be careful on the wide beach promenade!!!

Not great. We chose a "dune pitch" thinking it would be near the beach. It's just a camper spot with lots of sand dumped all around which is very messy. The toilet block of three showers blocked with hair is not enough for everyone. Tents and campers are parked less than one metre apart. In the UK the safe distance is six metres by law (fire risk). There is no swimming pool despite the misleading photos on the website, there is just a splash area for children. Not many people use the bar or restaurant because it's expensive. At night it's not that quiet because local dogs bark and there is a large crow rookery in the trees nearby which wake you early in the morning. I never seen many staff or people working here, luckily all the people are nice and considerate which makes the campsite pleasant.

We stayed there with our RV—it was very clean, very well-maintained, everyone was friendly, and it was very quiet.

Unfortunately, there are far too few restrooms, so you're constantly having to wait in line. Due to high occupancy, they aren't very clean.
