Visit Le Puy-en-Velay
Le Puy-en-Velay is about 45 km from the campground. Known for its historical and cultural importance, this beautiful town lies at the foot of a volcanic dome with unique black basalt architecture. In the town you will find the famous cathedral, considered one of the finest examples of Romanesque architecture in France, and the Notre-Dame du Bourg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Le Velay Express
Les Voies Ferroviaires de Velay (VFV) is a historic railroad in the region of Le Puy-en-Velay. The railroad runs through picturesque landscapes and is considered one of the best-preserved and most beautiful narrow-gauge railroads in France. The Castle of Rochebaron
A half-hour drive from the campground, atop a rocky hill, lies one of the best-preserved castles in the region. The panoramic view of the surrounding landscape alone is worth the hike up the steep path. The castle has a rich history dating back to the 12th century, and much of its original architecture and furnishings have been preserved. Today, you can visit Rochebaron Castle, and the 2 museums found inside, and discover how the inhabitants lived back then. It is a popular tourist attraction and in the summer the impressive birds of prey shows that are given make a visit extra special.
Hiking in Haute-Loire
Haute-Loire is known for its beautiful nature with forests, mountains and rivers such as the Loire River that rises at Mont Gerbier. Put on your hiking boots, as the scenic landscapes and varied terrain make Haute-Loire a popular hiking destination. 3ème séjour pour nous dans ce camping familial et nature a 30mn de chez nous. Loin des campings "bling bling", il fait notre bonheur et celui de nos enfants à chaque séjour. Le 1er en 2023, enceinte jusqu'au cou, nous avons préféré partir près et avons tellement apprécié le calme et la fraîcheur de ce camping, où les gérants se plient en 4 pour tous. La rivière a été notre principale activité pour palier a la canicule du moment. Nous y sommes revenus début juillet 2025, pour 2 nuits d'étape lors de notre périple à vélo avec 2 bébés. L'accueil a été parfait et nous avons apprécié le calme pour le repos et la piscine après nos efforts. Nous revenons de notre 3ème séjour aujourd'hui, avec Mamie et 6 petits enfants qui ont passé une semaine incroyable, notamment grâce à Manon et Aurélien, 2 animateurs incroyables qui aiment ce qu'ils font, c'est indéniable. On ne pourra jamais les remercier suffisamment de ce qu'ils ont fait. Chaque activité est pensé et adaptée pour que tous les enfants y trouvent leur compte, même notre petite puce de 2 ans. Ils sont souriants et débordants d'énergie, si attachants et si doux. Les services rendus par les gérants sont top également (un enfant malade lors du séjour), et puis le calme, encore et toujours, en pleine nature, et malgré les qq jours de pluie, tout le monde est ravi des vacances. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour au camping Le Vaubarlet à Sainte-Sigolène. Le cadre est magnifique ! Camping à l’ambiance familiale, très agréable, avec un accueil chaleureux et des responsables à l’écoute. Tout le personnel est sympathique et disponible. Notre fille a particulièrement adoré les animateurs ainsi que les activités proposées. Une belle adresse que nous recommandons sans hésiter ! A une prochaine !

We had a great holiday here with our 2 children of 5 and 2 years old. The campsite is beautiful and spacious. The people are very friendly. The river is great fun and a very nice additional way to cool off (in addition to the pool). There were fun activities for kids almost every day. The are several supermarkets and electric vehicle chargers in the nearby town at a 10 minute drive.
