Visit Bergerac
Just 20 km from the campground is the town of Bergerac. The town has cozy medieval streets and is titled "City of Art and History." Meet the statue of Cyrano and visit the tobacco museum where you will learn all about the 3000 year history of the tobacco plant. Afterwards, take a seat on one of the cozy terraces in the charming streets for one of Bergerac's wines. Also visit the Maison de Vins de Bergerac wine cellar. In the 17th-century building you can learn all about the vineyard, there is a wine library and, of course, a wine tasting. A visit is also completely free.
Visit Périgueux
A 30-minute drive from the campground is Périgueux, a lovely city with plenty to do and see. You can enjoy wandering around the old streets and alleys and past city palaces. The famous Saint-Front Cathedral in the city center is not to be missed. The cathedral's design was inspired by Byzantine ideas. Every day you will find the farmers' market in the city center. On Wednesdays and Saturdays it is extra large and is also called the "marchés des saveurs" (market of taste). Périgueux is the capital of Périgord, the region famous for its gastronomy. Therefore, be sure to dine in one of its cozy restaurants.
A day of fun at Jacquou Parc
A fun family outing in to Jacquou Parc, about half an hour away. This amusement park offers attractions for the whole family, including roller coasters, water rides and a playground. You can also see animals, such as monkeys and crocodiles, and there is a miniature golf course and a restaurant where you can enjoy a nice meal. The park is open from April through September.
Discover the beautiful natural environment of the Dordogne
Nearby are beautiful rivers like the Dordogne or the Vezere. Rent a canoe and take to the water. There are also many other water sports to practice in or near the campsite and you can of course simply take a refreshing dip. For the real hiker there are beautiful hiking trails such as the "sentier des Meulières", the "Boucle des ponts", or the "Roches enchantées".

Camping Lestaubière is beautifully situated on a hill with a park-like setting and stunning views over the valley. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans ce camping en Dordogne, sur un très grand emplacement ombragé. Une situation idéale pour profiter de la région, et visiter des sites aux alentours.
Le camping, l'étang de pêche sont très propre, parfaitement entretenu. La piscine est superbe et très agréable, parfaite pour se détendre après une journée … de visites.
Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la jolie terrasse ombragée, un endroit particulièrement agréable pour prendre un verre ou se restaurer ( snack, pizza) en fin de journée. C'est un vrai petit coin de détente, parfait pour profiter de l'ambiance du camping dans un cadre convivial.
Un endroit que nous recommandons sans hésiter et où nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir.

In augustus geweest op deze prachtige camping! Een heel grote plek hadden wij voor onze tent, met achter ons bos waardoor we de hangmat hebben kunnen gebruiken om te chillen. Sanitair was prima. Gezellig ruimte met restaurant, lekker gegeten. De eigenaren en het personeel waren heel vriendelijk, goedlachs en behulpzaam. Weinig lichtvervuiling dus heel mooi naar het heelal kunnen staren.

Zeer goed onderhouden en rustige camping. Ruime staanplaatsen, super proper sanitair en een prachtig zwembad. Op het terras is het gezellig vertoeven met zicht op het zwembad. In het cafetaria of het terras kan je een eenvoudig gerecht of snack bestellen aan democratische prijzen. Zeer vriendelijke gastvrouw en behulpzame gastheer. Wij komen zeker nog een keer terug.

We booked a safari tent (last minute) for the last two weeks of August and had a wonderful stay! The owners, Sébastien and Aurelie, are very friendly and helpful.
The tent was wonderful and fully equipped.
The campground is very well maintained, and the terrace is a great place to relax with a fantastic view. There’s a simple menu … featuring tasty pizzas, chicken and fish ‘n’ chips, and appetizers.
The restrooms were kept very clean, and there was fresh bread every morning (if you ordered it by 6:30 p.m. the night before).
What stood out to us were the tent and RV sites, which are incredibly spacious.
There’s a lovely swimming pool where our kids had a great time, and a fishing pond where we caught something every day. Be prepared for mosquitoes, though, so bringing DEET isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity.
The surrounding area is beautiful, with charming towns like Périgueux and Bergerac just a short drive away. There’s an Intermarché about a 15-minute drive away for groceries, and plenty of wine châteaux worth visiting!
We were there toward the end of the season, so there were no more entertainment activities, but during peak season they organize all kinds of activities.
The kids had a great time with their peers during the first week!

Wij hebben de laatste twee weken van augustus een safari tent geboekt (last minute) en een heerlijk verblijf gehad! De eigenaren Sébastien en Aurelie zijn erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam.
De tent was heerlijk, van alle gemakken voorzien.
De camping is erg goed onderhouden, je zit heerlijk op het terras met een fantastisch uitzicht. Er is een simpele kaart, met lekker pizza’s, kip/fish ‘n chips, en borrel gerechtjes.
Het sanitair werd goed schoon gehouden en elke ochtend vers brood (als je voor 1830 u de avond ervoor besteld).
Wat ons opviel zijn de sta-plekken voor tenten/campers, die zijn enorm ruim opgezet.
Er is een heerlijk zwembad waar onze kinderen zich goed vermaakt hebben, een visvijver waar we elke dag wel vangst hadden. Houd wel rekening met muggen, dus Deet mee is geen overbodige luxe.
De omgeving is prachtig met gezellige steden zoals Perigieux en Bergerac op een korte afstand rijden. Eén Intermarche op 15 min rijden voor boodschappen en veel wijn chateaus die een bezoek waard zijn!
Wij zaten al tegen het einde van het seizoen, animatie was niet meer aanwezig, maar in het hoog seizoen organiseren ze allerlei activiteiten.
De kinderen hebben zich in de eerste week erg goed vermaakt met leeftijds genoten!
We hebben genoten van de rust, de ruimte en de gastvriendelijkheid van de eigenaren. Zeker een aanrader om nog een keer terug te komen!
