Visit Brousse-le-Château
Located 36 kilometers from the glamping in Salles Curan, Brousse-le-Château attracts visitors from all over the world to admire its historical and natural beauty. The charming village is surrounded by the impressive outline of a 9th-century castle, and has been recognized as one of the "most beautiful villages in France." The castle towers over the village on a mountain, and its walls, towers and fortified rooms are all well preserved. You can explore the castle's history and learn about medieval warfare and strategy through various exhibits and displays. Besides the castle, the village itself is also a must-see, with narrow streets and charming houses, a medieval bridge over the river and a 13th-century church.

Nice campground / vacation park. Quiet and suitable for water sports. The location is a bit remote. In bad weather you have to drive quite a bit to get to a city. But everything nicely cared for and beautifully landscaped.

Leuke camping / vakantiepark.

We spent 4 nights there. I'm taking the liberty of writing a review because I have a rather mixed opinion of this campsite. - Children's facilities: very good, the kids had a blast. - Aqualudic area: the pool is small. There's only a small slide. There's a lack of parasols and the deckchairs are very close together. The paddling pool is fine, but not very clean (dirt on the bottom). - Location: as we had a last-minute change, we were given a tiny pitch (I don't think it was the minimum 80m2 for a 5-star campsite). There was hardly any shade. - sanitary facilities : relatively clean (the floor was often dirty at the shower entrance, but not in the showers and toilets). - Lake: Great inflatable equipment. Nice pedal boat. - the restaurant : Nice menu. Very friendly welcome. All these facilities are quite good and we had a great family time. What justifies the 3 stars (instead of 4 or even 5) is above all the welcome on our arrival. Indeed, when we showed up, we were just told where we were staying and... That was all. In fact, we were given very little explanation of how the campsite worked (how the spa works? Equipment rentals? Entrance badges? Wifi access? Site map? Welcoming visitors?) and most of the time there was simply no one at reception... I'm aware that high season is a complicated time to manage, but at around 90 euros a night for 4 people in a tent, you'd expect more availability from the staff. I hope you'll take these modest comments into account to improve the stay of future holidaymakers.

The campsite is very quiet, which is good for those looking for peace and quiet. However, I found it lacking in entertainment. When we arrived, the welcome was rather cold, and unfortunately this didn't improve when we left. The manager didn't even care to know how our stay had gone, concentrating solely on the cleanliness of the mobile home when we returned it, which lacks human consideration. We unfortunately mislaid the mobile home keys. An act which we obviously deplore and which was beyond our control. We compensated for this unfortunate loss by withholding a deposit of 50 euros. Which we understand. What is most distressing is the lack of trust and consideration shown towards us following this minor incident... A smile and a touch of courtesy don't seem to be part of the criteria for a 5-star hotel. This is truly regrettable. The mobile home was well laid out and not overlooked. Point for improvement: the bedding is not suitable for people over 1.80 m tall. The nearby lake is an asset that compensates for the pool, which is really too small for those who wish to swim. Please note that the slides visible on the site are not water slides; they are present on the playground. A small downside concerning the location: the campsite is relatively out of the way, making visits to the surrounding area a little complicated, with journeys of 35 minutes to 1h30 on sometimes winding roads. One positive point is the attention paid to cleanliness. However, it is regrettable to note that dog droppings litter the play area for children, who often walk barefoot near the inflatables. The smell of excrement is also very strong. I reported this problem to reception, but the response was to deplore the incivility of some customers. This area could be improved by banning dogs.
