Vallicella Glamping Resort

We had a pleasant stay at the Vallicella Glamping Resort in Scarlino. The resort is nestled in the lush greenery of the Tuscan Maremma and offers a peaceful, well-maintained setting that’s ideal for those seeking relaxation in nature.

The cabins are cozy, clean, and well-organized, striking a good balance between outdoor living and comfort. The pools are beautiful and perfect for both adults to relax and children to have fun. The staff was kind and helpful, contributing to a pleasant stay.

The location is excellent for visiting the beaches and the most beautiful spots in the area.

One area for improvement is the parking, which is located some distance from the cottages: with luggage, small children, or simply for daily travel, this can be a bit inconvenient, especially upon arrival and departure.

Overall, it’s a lovely property, nestled in a picturesque natural setting, with a few logistical tweaks that could make the experience even better.

The village itself is very charming, but let’s start with the fact that it’s located on a hill, so the streets are all incredibly steep and exhausting to walk up. I therefore strongly advise against it for anyone who has difficulty walking long distances or who has very young children. I don’t recommend camping in tents because during the hottest months, like July and August, it’s impossible to sleep or rest inside them since they get scorching hot; even if there are fans, they just circulate hot air. The shuttle taxi service runs from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., but it’s rarely available; most of the time, they’ll tell you they’re busy, or you’ll be answered by staff who don’t speak Italian—so you’ll have to speak English. Cars must be left in the parking lot, which is very far from the accommodations and all uphill, so if you’re lucky enough to catch the shuttle service, great; otherwise, you’ll have to walk. The pools are very nice, with slides for kids. The entertainment isn’t very engaging, and what little there is is mostly just for DUTCH children—don’t be fooled by the photos and videos on the website, just like I was.
I won’t be going back there, not even for a weekend.

A very nice, quiet family campground—maybe a little too quiet. The small Pack 4 cabin we stayed in was very nice, even though it was so close to the others that there wasn’t a breeze to help cool us off. The only complaint we have is that there’s absolutely no entertainment. We even asked if they could show the World Cup game, but they told us it ended too late and would be too noisy. In short, this is a campground where the biggest downside is the entertainment, regardless of age: even for very young children, it’s really not great. For older kids, there’s nothing at all!!!I wouldn’t recommend it for families with teens or groups of adults because there’s really nothing to do in the evening—even asking to watch a game is too much to ask, and even if there’s no noise, it closes at 11:00 p.m.
For a campground offering weekly stays at that price, it’s a disgrace!! Never again.
