Het Loo Palace

In 1684, Stadholder William III and Princess Mary bought a small castle in the middle of the Veluwe called the Oude Loo. After they had it transformed into a royal palace, and through changes made years later by Louis Napoleon, it is now a beautiful large palace that you can come and admire. As you listen to the audio narration, you'll cycle through the old residents Willem, Mary, and Wilhelmina. Learn about the Dutch royal house and its history. Take a walk through the beautiful imposing gardens, visit the stables, and admire this 17th-century architectural masterpiece. A real highlight is the Roof, from where you have a magnificent view of the gardens. It also hosts unique events such as performances and exhibitions.

Recreation park Zeumeren

At recreational lake Zeumeren, 6 km from the Kingfisher, many activities are organized for young and old. Combine a beach day with, for example, supping or water skiing. If you are not a water rat, you can have fun playing mini-golf or short golf. The kids can climb, search for gold and dig for treasures at the adventure park SchatEiland. While enjoying a drink, watch a beautiful sunset at Beachclub Zeumeren.

Visit the craft and toy museum

Step inside the Crafts Museum after a 10-minute drive and go back in time. The museum has as many as 160 crafts in the form of stores and fully equipped workshops. Every week an old craft comes to life for you to admire. One floor up you enter the world of toys. The toy museum has a large collection of antique toys to admire. There are moving trains, old-fashioned dolls, and a whole collection of stuffed bears. Do you remember Dinky Toys? Of course, that's not missing from the collection. And it doesn't have to stop at just looking. In the playroom, there are several old Dutch games to play.

In the pictures, the 2 pers. Tiny wellness suite looks quite something, but ...... the jacuzzi is a glorified bathtub with no seat or headrest. If you are taller than 1.60 then sitting 2 people in this bathtub is anything but comfortable. Privacy is non-existent, people and cars walk and drive by in plain sight. Cleanliness is an illusion. A closet for clothes is not there. A bed drawer where you have to put clothes. No pastry dishes and coffee cups but giga mugs. Bed as hard as a board. Two armchairs to grow wooden buttocks. Why not a nice couch? No 2nd TV in bedroom so obliged to sit on armchairs. No stool or table next to the bed. Bedside lamp hangs so you can't sit in bed. Chinks above doors that barely close. Andne ... watch out if you take your dog for a walk in the woods because there are wolves. We heard that a dog was bitten to death by a wolf. The Tiny bungalow (and tiny it is!!) is way too expensive for what is offered. Henceforth, the luxury 2 pers. VIP bungalow Eemhof C.Parcs, also expensive but good value for money.

Beautiful park, beautiful surroundings... plenty to do. Only point there would be more storage space in the house may comeem for possibly brought groceries. Enough free space to make this more practical to make this also applies to the closets: 2 hanging areas with a total of 3 hangers, make this into shelves then you can in any case your clothes well lost. Furthermore, enjoyed a week Ijsvogel!

We had a nice stay in itself, but some things were also disappointing. So you have to consider for yourself whether you find that a problem or not when you book this. The cottage was fine. It did appear in the pictures to be really well-priced so I had to get used to the new reality for the first few hours. The sauna was fine, although water continually leaks through the stones onto the floor. The concrete surface in the shower with stains and the rusty shower broom don't feel very clean. The beds and especially the pillows were very floppy. The drink packages we had ordered with were neatly arranged. The bathrobes that were supposed to be there were not. We left it that way. We had paid extra for two sets of extra towels and they were not there. After reporting this at the reception they gave them to us. The kitchen is small, which is not so bad. Only at the stove that really gets too small. There are two gas burners for cooking, which are so close together that the saucepan and frying pan just can't stand comfortably next to each other. Combined with the heat released from cooking on gas, that becomes quite a dangerous mess. Keep in mind that it's best to stick to one-pan dishes. The spatulas should be replaced with wood. The plastic spatulas had obviously burned away several times in the hot pans and it happened to us as well. What disappointed us most was how welcome we felt with dog. It is clearly stated that dogs are welcome in certain cottages. The campaign photos feature dogs and one of the welcome emails also includes tips on off-leash areas. So clearly dog owners are being targeted. But upon arrival, we received a magazine where under the heading dogs was written quite dismissively. Especially the announcement that dogs were not allowed to be walked in the park, we found strange. I completely understand that you do not let your dog out in the front yard of someone's cottage. Then the park immediately deteriorates and that's just nasty. But if you allow dogs in your park, organize a dog walking area somewhere where it is allowed. And we also clean up after ourselves in that field. The whole park is full of signs that the dog is not allowed to defecate there. It is not realistic to ask people in a vacation park to cross a major road and walk the dog in the adjacent forest four times a day. We don't go to the woods at home at night either, but you walk your dog in your neighborhood. Totally understandable that there are places where they shouldn't be, but then create a piece of park where they are welcome. So besides toilet space, there was no play area for the dog on the property. I am shocked that some reviews have been very defensive or claim that it could not have been at this park. In any case, we really have been there, and no, I do not book under this name of course. Points of improvement we were not able to communicate to the reception since we left on Sunday and everything is closed then. Other issues that can be solved immediately, such as the towels, we solved. Other issues in this review are tips for the long term. Do with it what you will, but I don't need a defensive response.
