Het Loo Palace

In 1684, Stadholder William III and Princess Mary bought a small castle in the middle of the Veluwe called the Oude Loo. After they had it transformed into a royal palace, and through changes made years later by Louis Napoleon, it is now a beautiful large palace that you can come and admire. As you listen to the audio narration, you'll cycle through the old residents Willem, Mary, and Wilhelmina. Learn about the Dutch royal house and its history. Take a walk through the beautiful imposing gardens, visit the stables, and admire this 17th-century architectural masterpiece. A real highlight is the Roof, from where you have a magnificent view of the gardens. It also hosts unique events such as performances and exhibitions.

Recreation park Zeumeren

At recreational lake Zeumeren, 6 km from the Kingfisher, many activities are organized for young and old. Combine a beach day with, for example, supping or water skiing. If you are not a water rat, you can have fun playing mini-golf or short golf. The kids can climb, search for gold and dig for treasures at the adventure park SchatEiland. While enjoying a drink, watch a beautiful sunset at Beachclub Zeumeren.

Visit the craft and toy museum

Step inside the Crafts Museum after a 10-minute drive and go back in time. The museum has as many as 160 crafts in the form of stores and fully equipped workshops. Every week an old craft comes to life for you to admire. One floor up you enter the world of toys. The toy museum has a large collection of antique toys to admire. There are moving trains, old-fashioned dolls, and a whole collection of stuffed bears. Do you remember Dinky Toys? Of course, that's not missing from the collection. And it doesn't have to stop at just looking. In the playroom, there are several old Dutch games to play.

We had the Tiny cabin for 1 night.

Cute cottage, but keep in mind that you do almost sit on the lap of the neighbors.
The garden and spacious the cottage is lovingly landscaped.
The jacuzzi outside is nice. Do not forget your slippers because the tiles are slippery in bad weather.

What I find a little tricky about this accommodation is that the description seems very luxurious.

A hot tub in your bedroom is nice, but then it must work.
No shower gel, hanging up your coat is just fine but where do you leave the rest?
Double bed is as tiny as the cottage.
There was also a loud noise (think the system of the jacuzzi) that you can hear in the bedroom.

And "tiny" is totally okay if the price was not so "big".

It were small things that made it just not what you expect to get.

What was a big minus for us was that you could check in between 15.00-17.00 and you already had to check out between 09.00-10.00. That for the price of a sloppy €300...For barely 18 hours of stay. A late check-out was not possible.

Oh, and for this amount you may also take your own bed before departure.

In addition, you receive a lot of e-mails from the park.
