They’re working hard to turn this former campground into something beautiful. There’s plenty of construction going on, so the park is still very much a construction site right now, but hopefully that will improve in about a year. The cottages are privately owned and are therefore brand new, but they vary greatly in terms of details. It all depends on how the owner chooses to furnish and finish them. We found our 6-person Heide Lodge to be a bit small. Fortunately, it did have air conditioning.

The park is a construction site. The homes are “new.” And so there are plenty of teething problems. The lights don’t work (unless you slam a door shut…). The front door is completely out of alignment. Ants are having a field day (after all, you’re in the woods). No screens on the windows (you’re in the woods!!). The four-person cottage is quite spacious but inefficiently furnished with a two-person sofa and one chair..... The restaurant is open whenever they feel like it and doesn’t communicate its hours clearly, and the same goes for the snack bar/shop. The reception is open until 5:00 p.m. The door is locked at 4:30 p.m. We paid a lot of money for a park that isn’t functioning properly.

A wonderful weekend getaway! We stayed in Reeëndal Lodge 550, which has a lovely terrace, and our daughter was able to play on the playground equipment right nearby. We really got to recharge our batteries.

We stayed in a cottage at De Bosgraaf vacation park from May 23 to 30. The cottage itself was neat and clean, we have nothing to say about that. Unfortunately, however, there were other issues that significantly affected our vacation. Soon we found out that the oven and air conditioner cannot be used at the same time, because then the main fuse falls out. That's already pretty inconvenient, especially with a family. The biggest problem, however, was the pool. We specifically chose this park because of the heated outdoor pool. My wife is pregnant and we have a two-year-old child, so this was a really important reason for us to book here. Upon arrival, we only received a letter stating that the pool was closed due to technical problems. It was also mentioned that they have been working on this for three months with specialists. What bothers us most is that we were not informed about this anywhere in advance. If we had known this, we probably would have chosen another park. The website still emphatically mentions the swimming pool as an important facility of the park. According to the park, there is "force majeure" and they offer an "equivalent alternative" in the form of a pool five minutes away. We do not find this equivalent at all. You have to plan specifically to go there, the pool doesn't open until 11:00 a.m. instead of 9:00 a.m. at the park itself, and walking will take you about 25 minutes. With a pregnant woman and a young child, that is simply not the same convenience as a pool right on the park. In addition, we paid extra for a specific spot close to the pool as well as for staying during the Whitsun weekend, which was more expensive than the following week. So in retrospect, we had no use for that at all. We expressed our dissatisfaction twice at the reception, but the compensation offered (in the form of another pool) we find insufficient given the situation and the fact that the problem appears to have been known for months. Too bad, because the park and the cottage itself have potential, but due to the lack of communication and the lack of the main facility, this feels like a disappointing vacation for us.
