Visiting Nijmegen, the oldest city in the Netherlands

Take the bus or car to Nijmegen and be in the oldest city in the Netherlands within 20 minutes. Stroll through cozy downtown streets, past the cute boutiques on Hezelstraat and find a place for a drink or delicious lunch. To get a breath of fresh air, stroll along the river Waal, or unwind in the green Kronenburgerpark. From there you can walk back into town.

Hiking on the Mookerheide

A 10-minute walk from the houseboats in Limburg is the Mookerheide. Formerly a battleground on several occasions, but nowadays a beautiful nature reserve with vast heathlands, a hilly landscape and beautiful forests. Enjoy the greenery and tranquility while hiking on the provincial border of Gelderland with Limburg. Follow the hiking trails, spot a sand lizard, admire the view and forget for a moment that you are still in the Netherlands.

Castles in the area

Near this glamping in northern Limburg you will find several castles. The medieval Doorwerth Castle is just under a 40-minute drive away. The castle today houses 4 collections: the furnished castle rooms, the National Forestry Collection, the Dutch Hunting Museum and Museum Veluwezoom. Take a walk through the woods surrounding the castle, take a look at the kitchen garden and, while visiting the inside of the castle, discover how people used to live here. A little closer, about a 25-minute drive away, is Museum Castle Wijchen. Take a calligraphy workshop and join a guided tour of the castle. The various workshops, activities, tastings and exhibitions make it a fun outing for young and old alike.

A day of fun for children

Close to Malden, just over a 15-minute drive away, is Harm's Hoeve. All year round you can visit this cozy farm to pet the animals or help feed them! There are cows, goats, sheep, pigs and chickens. Next to the farm you will find the Corn Maze. Not only is there a maze you have to find your way out of, there's all kinds of things to do! Take a ride on the go-kart, play in the straw or see who wins a game of soccer. Bad weather? Then head to Adventure Park De Bergen. After a 25-minute drive, you'll be in the most beautiful indoor playground in the Netherlands full of play equipment and attractions.

    Tolle Erfahrung auf dem Hausboot! Das Hausboot ist sehr gemütlich und geschmackvoll eingerichtet – man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Alles, was man für den Alltag braucht, ist vorhanden. Besonders schön: Man kann direkt im See schwimmen und sogar von der eigenen Terrasse aus angeln! Restaurants sind fußläufig gut erreichbar. Eine klare Empfehlung für alle, die mal eine etwas andere Unterkunft suchen.

    Gut ausgestattetes Hausboot mit Dachterasse. Es gab aber auch Hausboote ohne Dachterasse. Da wir mit dem Wetter nur bedingt Glück hatten, haben wir unsere Dachterasse so gut wie gar nicht genutzt. Hunde sind zugelassen und auf dem Gebiet ist viel Platz um längere Spaziergänge mit Hund zu machen. Es ist auch ein nicht weit gelegenes Restaurant vorhanden. Etwas weiter weg ist auch eine künstlich angelegte Sandstrandbar mit Plätzen zum relaxen vorhanden.

    Unser Urlaub fing beim Buchen an. Freundlicher Mailverkehr und Kundenwünsche werden, sofern möglich berücksichtigt. Nachfragen werden umgehend beantwortet. Schöne und saubere Anlage. Gesichert durch ein Tor, mit Zahlencode. Unser Hausboot war hübsch und liebevoll eingerichtet. Alles funktionierte, war sauber und gepflegt. Unser Urlaub ist gerade 3 Tage her und wir sind immer noch beeindruckt. Der Sprung von der Hausboot-Terrasse direkt ins Wasser oder das Angeln von der Terrasse oder dem Steg, war die perfekte Erholung. Man kann sich vor Ort Stand-Up Paddle, Kanu oder ein kleines Motorboot mieten. Man kann auch das eigene Angel-/ Ruderboot mitbringen und direkt am Hausboot festmachen. In angrenzenden "Wald" lassen sich die Spuren einer Biberfamilie beobachten. Hunde sind herzliche Willkommen, und bekommen Ihre eigene Decke. Wir können die negativen Erfahrungen nicht teilen, und kommen bestimmt noch einmal wieder 😍
