Great location, perfect base for exploring. At the park itself: The entertainment staff are enthusiastic and versatile! Swimming pool: Indoor pool, great, fun slide, water temperature just right. Outdoor pool: Unfortunately, the water was much too cold, even during a hot summer week. Many playgrounds scattered throughout the park. The mini-golf course was fun. Friendly staff. Accommodation Hackfort 6: Cleaning was inadequate; the floor was sticky, kitchen utensils were dirty, and the cabinets were dirty—we reported this to the front desk. The furnishings and amenities inside and outside the accommodation were adequate. A great stay, with a few areas for improvement.

Just great

Perfect for children under 16. Many activities for children with plenty of different playgrounds on the premises. Prices in the Grand Cafe are very reasonable. The indoor pool was great, my kids loved the water slide. The outdoor pool is also very good, but not always warm enough due to the weather. Mini golf was very fun for us. You can rent bikes and go around the area with sand dunes and a park with walking trails. Our cottage was nice and clean but we chose the one with no pets allowed and we had air conditioning - consider it if you go in late spring/summer season.

Warning—based on our experience, this is a total vacation trap

We had been looking forward to a relaxing vacation in the Netherlands and wanted to go on some nice bike rides with friends. Instead, we had nothing but trouble from start to finish.

As soon as we arrived, we noticed that the outdoor area was dirty. The garden table hadn’t even been wiped down, so the first impression was anything but inviting.

The next morning, I spotted a cockroach in the bathroom. By that point, at the very latest, the vacation mood was completely ruined.

It was also particularly frustrating that we had to pay a security deposit on site, something we hadn’t been informed about in advance. The refund wasn’t issued until 22 days later—and only after we specifically requested it.

As if that weren’t enough, nearly 100 euros were subsequently deducted from the security deposit for allegedly inadequate cleaning. To this day, we haven’t received any meaningful evidence to support this claim. On top of that, there were practically no cleaning supplies available in the accommodation—just a broom.

Our impression is therefore that guests should expect to face additional costs after the fact. For us, the stay was a major disappointment, both financially and personally.

We will definitely not be returning and, based on our experience, unfortunately cannot recommend this accommodation.

The area around the park is fantastic; I enjoyed visiting Tilburg, 's-Hertogenbosch, Breda, and Eindhoven, as well as Kaatsheuvel, Heusden, and Waalwijk. And, of course, Efteling. But the cottage wasn’t very clean—there were a lot of ants running around. And the Wi-Fi connection is very poor. For 1.5 to 2 days, there was no Wi-Fi at all, and no TV either. It was nice to be able to sit outside, though. And it was nice that there was a parasol available—that’s not always the case. I’d definitely come back—purely for the beautiful surroundings.
