Discover National Park De Loonse en Drunense Duinen
For a walk through beautiful nature and sand dunes, you don't have to drive far, as National Park De Loonse en Drunense Duinen is the "backyard" of Recreation Park Duinhoeve. Follow the footpath behind the glamping and find yourself directly in the nature reserve. There are wonderful hiking and biking trails to follow, but there are plenty of other things to do in this 35-square-mile park. Take a mountain bike into the woods, walk toward the lookout point for the best view of the sandy plain, or book an excursion to hike through the Brabant Sahara with a guide. This way, your excursion into nature will be even more educational.

Step into the magical world of the Efteling
With a 15-minute drive from the Efteling, a trip to this special amusement park cannot be missed. Take a walk through the Fairytale Forest, where fairy tales come to life. Step into fast roller coasters, or opt for a quiet cruise on the water. There are attractions suitable for young and old, and either way everyone enjoys the magical worlds they create at the Efteling!
Dive into history at castles in the area
Around this glamping in North Brabant are some beautiful castles. Heeswijk Castle is a 20-minute drive away. Take a guided tour and see the impressive interior of this former 11th-century moated castle. Slot Loevestein is a 45-minute drive away and has a beautiful waterfront location. See the exhibitions, walk in the nature surrounding the castle, and learn more about its tactical location.
Follow Van Gogh through Brabant
Not only was Vincent van Gogh born in Brabant, but he also created many of his works in this part of the Netherlands. Would you like to follow in his footsteps? You can do so in a variety of educational and fun ways. There are 10 different Van Gogh bicycle routes through Brabant, taking you along the landscapes that inspired him. Prefer to walk? You can too! Walk through Zundert, the town where he grew up, or follow a route through Nuenen, the place where he painted many of his works. Zundert is also home to the Vincent van GoghHuis, where you can learn more about the work and life of this Dutch painter through various exhibitions.

Recreatiepark Duinhoeve is appreciated for its beautiful location directly adjacent to the Loonse and Drunense Dunes, ideal for hiking and cycling. Guests praise the friendly and helpful staff, extensive play facilities for children (playgrounds, zip line, bouncy castles) and the heated swimming pool with fun toddler pool. The enthusiastic animation team and popular train rides provide great entertainment. Points for improvement include outdated sanitary facilities with mold formation, limited opening hours of the restaurant (closed on Tuesdays, even in high season), and the price-quality ratio which doesn't always convince.

We stayed for over two months at Vakantiepark Duinhoeve in Udenhout in a 5-person chalet with a veranda. Thanks to our long stay, we got to know the park quite well. Unfortunately, we would not recommend the park in its current condition.
The location is beautiful. It’s just a two-minute walk from the park into the Loonse and Drunense Dunes, which is definitely a major plus for nature lovers. The staff we spoke with were also generally friendly. Unfortunately, in our experience, there are too many shortcomings to make up for this.
The chalets are very outdated. We found the beds uncomfortable due to the standard fire-resistant mattresses and pillows. The TV is small and outdated, and the bathroom is very cramped. Our chalet was reasonably clean upon arrival, though we heard from other guests that their chalets were less hygienic.
The biggest problem, however, was the internet connection. There’s a guest network, and each chalet has its own access point, but these didn’t work for us. Additionally, 4G and 5G coverage is insufficient in many areas, meaning you sometimes have practically no internet at all. Even sending a text message can be difficult under those circumstances.
We reported this to the front desk right away on the first day. We were then moved to different accommodations several times. At another location, the guest network was somewhat usable, but the access point in the chalet didn’t work there either. We heard from several other guests that they had reported the same problem to the front desk. We find it incomprehensible that, in the year 2026, this issue hasn’t been permanently resolved.
Even without a car or your own bike, getting around the park is difficult. The park doesn’t rent out bikes, and the nearest bus stop and supermarket are about a 50-minute walk away. Since we didn’t have any bikes with us, I bought an electric scooter to make grocery shopping easier. I was then asked not to ride it through the park for safety reasons, even though the staff themselves drive golf carts around the grounds. We found that rather odd.
We found the pool small and very crowded in warm weather. There is a small rectangular pool and a children’s pool. Furthermore, there are no staff members present to supervise, and yet you still pay 6 euros per person for admission. Considering what you get for that price, we find it quite pricey.
The park is likely appealing to dog owners. If you’re not a dog owner, be aware of potential noise disturbances. We experienced a dog barking for hours on end without, to our knowledge, anything being done about it.
In hot weather, the chalets also get extremely hot. There is no air conditioning, and there are no decent window screens. The makeshift screens that are there don’t keep mosquitoes out well enough, so we suffered from both the heat and the mosquitoes at night.
Finally, we find the value for money to be very poor. We paid over 4,000 euros per month. For that amount, we expect much better accommodations, reliable internet service, and better amenities. The combination of outdated chalets, poor internet and cell service, limited accessibility, no bike rentals, a small paid swimming pool, no air conditioning, inadequate window screens, and noise pollution means that, in our opinion, the price is absolutely not in line with what you get.
Duinhoeve certainly has potential, especially thanks to its beautiful location and proximity to the Loonse and Drunense Dunes. Unfortunately, in our opinion, there are too many issues that need improvement. For a short stay focused primarily on enjoying nature, the location might be appealing, but after more than two months, we would not stay here again.

The campground itself was beautiful, quiet, and well-maintained.
I highly recommend visiting here at least once.this is a translation, click here for the original
