EuroParcs Enkhuizer Strand

The chalet was clean and also quite cozy. Contrary to the information given at the time of booking, it was unfortunately not suitable for senior citizens, let alone the disabled. There were door thresholds in every door, to get into the house with a wheelchair the wheelchair had to be lifted over a 6 cm high threshold. The gravel path was also difficult to negotiate, fortunately it was still possible to walk a few steps, otherwise it would have been impossible to use the toilet and bathroom. The corridors are too narrow to be used with a wheelchair or walker. The shower lacks a grab rail and a shelf for toiletries, putting everything on the floor is impossible for someone who cannot bend down. The box spring bed, which is supposed to be there, is lower than a normal bed, with a loose mattress that is just under 10cm high. The restaurant in the complex looked very appealing, but was not usable, as it was again only accessible via stairs without railings or via a long gravel path, which can only be used to a limited extent by people with severe walking difficulties. It is certainly nice there for people without a handicap, but unfortunately the description that was available when booking did not match my search criteria, which I had limited to vacation apartments suitable for people with disabilities.

I booked an apartment and called to confirm whether it had a fence, as we planned to visit with our two dogs. I was told that I should cancel that booking and instead reserve the Elite 6 with the fenced option selected on the website. I followed that advice, paid €200 more for the upgraded apartment, and ensured the fenced option was selected. Today, my wife and parents-in-law arrived — it was a birthday gift — and the apartment does not have a fence. I called the front desk, and the lady told me that the apartment wasn’t booked with a fence. I explained that I had specifically called after the second booking to confirm this, and paid more just for this feature. She simply told me they are fully booked, they won’t refund anything — and then hung up on me. Terrible service. Never visiting an EuroParcs location again.

Beautiful atmosphere in good weather😁

Based on the informative pictures and information on the website, we booked a week at Enkhuizer Strand with our children. We had the house right on the water with a large fenced garden. The house itself is visually beautiful and also modernly furnished, but apparently all houses are heated by a heat pump. Our pump was located directly behind a bedroom wall, which made it impossible to sleep through the night as the pump was constantly making noise. The heaters in the rooms themselves are activated by loud fans. There is a lack of infrastructure. The restaurant is not yet ready and the artificial beach that was announced does not yet exist. When we asked the landlady if we could get our money back as a gesture of goodwill, she refused. We will not be coming back. Absolutely not recommended for families with children. Unfortunately, we are also canceling our vacation. If you just want peace and quiet and don't need any action, you're certainly in good hands here. However, the park lacks shopping facilities and a restaurant. You are forced to drive to Enkhuizen, 10 minutes away by car.

We left yesterday evening after arriving in the morning and complaining a lot in the evening. The house was so full of spiders, cobwebs and stank like crazy. We complained, recognized the problem and asked for it to be cleaned. Nothing happened. I took the vacuum cleaner into my own hands. Just vacuumed spiders for 30 minutes !!!!! They were falling out of the cupboards, curtains and all the walls already had thick black stains from previous residents. When we were making the beds and some of them ran out of the bed, it was over and we went home with two crying children. Unbelievable!!!
