Glamping tent - 6 persons

We stayed at the RV campground

for 6 days—it was just enough to explore Amsterdam, but we wouldn’t come back again
—the staff was friendly, and we had no trouble communicating in English
—the price was good, but the grounds could use more maintenance
—poor bus service, we took Uber and used the subway once we were in the … city
- Airplane noise sometimes lasted until 11:30 p.m. and started again at 5:30 a.m.
- The lawns were very wet, and there were no signs from the front desk
- The shower building was unfortunately very dirty; there were crushed cigarette butts all over the floor in front of the entrance doors
- Some of the showers themselves were very dirty - The drains weren’t draining properly; in some cases, hair had been stuck to the shower walls in one spot for three days
- There is a washing machine in every laundry room—€4.50—and a dryer—€2.50
- The wood around the sinks is all very worn
- The shower temperature cannot be adjusted
- The laundry room was heated
- The side path and the room itself for emptying the cassette toilets are not lit—it’s best to bring a flashlight or empty them during the day
- There’s a microwave in the shower house for everyone to use
- The reception shop was only open until 5 p.m. this week
- Prices in the shop are set higher
- There’s a pizza vending machine outside the reception area that had been marked “sold out” for 6 days. Starting today, there were some items available again
– In the shop, you can make coffee or tea; there’s a microwave and a contact grill—which you couldn’t use later because of the 5:00 PM closing time
– Otherwise, there are no hot plates, oven, or a lounge
—the cleaning staff (two men) who were in the women’s restroom today weren’t exactly gentle with the fixtures—slamming restroom and shower doors. They kept slamming the doors with the mop even though people were still inside
—we found the grounds around the buildings to be rather unkempt

Peaceful location, by waterside with filly serviced camping pitches and holiday lodges 2nd time round arrived a day early flexible on changes on arrival

So it surprises me that no one has mentioned the noise from the planes. Sometimes it feels like they’re about to land right next to you. I find it pretty intense, but then again, we’re not used to that in the East either ;)
The campground itself is really great. The restrooms are a bit outdated but clean. There’s a small campground store on … site. The staff is friendly. And you’re close to the highway and the shops and supermarkets in Amstelveen. Read more Show less
