Summary created out of 302 reviews

The park is beautifully situated in the greenery of the Amsterdamse Bos, with spacious pitches and good accessibility to Amsterdam by bike (30-45 minutes) or public transport. Guests appreciate the quiet, nature-rich surroundings with birds and rabbits, and the friendly, helpful staff. The sanitary facilities are regularly cleaned and the showers have hot water, although the facilities are somewhat dated and cleanliness is experienced as variable. Many visitors notice aircraft noise due to the proximity of Schiphol, but nights are quiet thanks to the night flight ban.

The campground itself is quite a nice place, and the location in the Amsterdamse Bos is very pleasant. However, my experience was quite negative because I was looking for a place to relax, and in reality, I encountered a lot of noise, especially at night.

The problem wasn’t limited to just one specific night. There was a lot of noise at night throughout my stay. After 5:00 p.m., when the front desk closes, there’s no one available to turn to in case of a problem, and there are no security staff to enforce quiet hours. This is especially noticeable at night, since the noise can go on for hours without anyone from the campground to turn to.

On Saturday, there was also a festival near the campground, and the music could be heard and echoed throughout the entire area. I understand that an outside festival isn’t the campground’s responsibility, but I do think they should mention these types of events on their website before guests make a reservation—especially if they can have such a significant impact on guests’ rest. I chose this campground specifically because I was looking for peace and quiet, and if I had known I would encounter this level of noise, I would have chosen a different place to stay.

That same night, there was also a car in the parking lot with the music playing at an extremely high volume from approximately 1:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. Since there was no one from the campground to notify, I finally had to call the police so I could get some rest.

Another negative aspect was the Wi-Fi. It’s a public network, and during my stay it often simply didn’t work. When I did manage to connect, the speed was very slow and the connection quality was quite poor, making it practically useless for working, studying, or doing any activity that required a stable connection.

After several days of not being able to sleep well and a constant feeling of unease, the experience ended up being quite bad for me.

The campground has its positive aspects and the surroundings are beautiful, but I think they should definitely improve noise management at night, provide a way to contact them or get assistance outside of reception hours, and give advance notice of any events or external circumstances that might affect guests’ rest. If you’re looking for a quiet place to rest, I recommend giving this serious consideration before booking.

The cabin was sweltering. With two small children and an old dog, we ended up with what was probably the only cabin in direct sunlight without air conditioning, at nearly 40 degrees.
So we couldn’t leave the dog there alone for even 5 minutes—he would have died.
The toilet seat looks like it’s falling apart. That can’t be hygienic anymore either. There were muddy footprints on the bedroom wall. The floor is sticky.
    The entire cabin smelled musty.
The playground doesn’t even have a bench.

Not worth the money. You’re better off going home.

Kein Geld wert. Fahrt lieber wieder nach Hause.
