Disappointing Family Vacation – Lots of Potential, but Unfortunately Too Many Shortcomings ⭐⭐ (
2/5)
We stayed at EuroParcs Poort van Zeeland for a week as a family of four with two children. The kids did end up having fun in the end, but for us as parents, the negatives clearly outweigh the positives, so we won’t be coming back.
Location & Surroundings:
The resort’s location itself is fine. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the beach. However, the path there is extremely arduous—we strongly recommend avoiding handcarts and bringing as little luggage as possible. On the plus side, the resort is centrally located, and supermarkets are about a 10-minute drive away.
Accommodations & Hygiene:
The rooms are extremely small and heat up very quickly. Since there were no fly screens on the windows, we were literally swarmed by mosquitoes at night. However, it was almost impossible to open the windows in the evening because there was a constant, overpowering stench of fertilizer outside.
The condition of the house was disappointing: the bathroom, beds, and couch looked very run-down and more like junk. Additionally, the floor wasn’t clean when we arrived. On top of that, we had loud neighbors who drank heavily and noisily late into the night for three nights in a row.
Service & Dining:
The staff was very nice, though unfortunately not always available at the front desk. Prices in the park are extremely inflated—both the groceries in the store and the ice cream, as well as the rental fees for bicycles and go-karts, are absolutely overpriced.
Kids & Recreational Activities:
There were hardly any supervised activities for children, so as parents we had almost no opportunity to take a break. The indoor playground also looked quite worn out.
The booked recreational activities were unfortunately a big disappointment:
Laser tag: Extremely expensive for only 20 minutes of playtime. The equipment was inadequate (just a helmet and guns), and there was no way to tell whether you’d hit anyone or been hit yourself.
Glow-in-the-Dark Mini-Golf: Very disappointing, with only 8 holes that you could finish in 15 minutes. On top of that, the music was so extremely loud that normal conversation was impossible, and you had to shout to be heard.
Conclusion: What a waste of vacation time and money. Unfortunately, absolutely not recommended for families with children in terms of value for money.this is a translation, click here for the original
Enttäuschender Familienurlaub – Viel Potenzial, aber leider zu viele Mängel ⭐⭐ (
2/5)
