We were camping in Croatia for the first time - on recommendation - and visited the Valkanela campsite. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed overall and can't understand the many positive reviews. Booking and preparation We booked 13 months in advance and specified everything exactly in the comments field: - the length of our caravan, - that we would be bringing our own ramp, which would require space at the front, - and other requirements for people with reduced mobility. All this information was completely ignored when we were allocated a pitch. We deliberately did not book a "preferred seat" as we were charged an extra €100 for this, which was not deducted from our stay. We also felt this was completely inappropriate. Arrival and pitch allocation After a long wait on site, we were allocated two pitches (supposedly "Seaside", second row, with sea view). However, one of the pitches (no. 143) was practically unusable due to a tree in the middle of the pitch - no room for a ramp or awning. Despite our comments, the reception staff showed no interest in responding in a friendly or solution-oriented manner. We ended up on a pitch right next to the garbage dump. Every morning from 7:15 we were woken up by the garbage truck, and we were also disturbed by campers disposing of glass before 6am. The bathroom was right next to it, so we had constant through traffic. Of course there was no sea view - instead we were surrounded by several rows of other campers. Sanitary facilities The sanitary facilities were in poor condition: - Cleaning usually just meant spraying down with a hose. - The floors were often under water. - The disabled bathroom was almost always dirty, garbage was left for days even though we had put it out ourselves. Gastronomy & prices The prices on the campsite are clearly exaggerated (e.g. fish & chips €15.50). The only positive thing was the grill restaurant: friendly service, delicious food and fair prices. Conclusion - Wishes are ignored when booking, even with long-term advance planning. - Absolutely unsuitable for guests with limited mobility. - Poor pitch allocation and organization. - Constant noise from garbage collection, campers and music late into the night. We give it 2 stars, the site is not worth more. Croatia will not see us again in a hurry and we cannot recommend the Valkanela campsite.

We enjoyed staying in the Campground. It is a quiet, very well organized Place. We will definetly come back.

Poštovani Trideset (30) sam punih godina radila u toj firmi...svega sam prošla ...u smislu...poslova kao sto su .. čistaćica sobarica,servirka , pomoćna radnica u kuhinji,barmenica konobarica...(dvokratni rad )i smjenski rad ...vodila mini bar po naseljima...(Vrsar Maistra nekada firma zvana Anita ) Vodila šankove...bila prof.konobar alakart poslovanja...pansion konobar...sretna zlatna vremena zatim.oko cca 10 god.radila u likvidaturi i računovodstvu...Rovinj Da bi danas vidjela i doživjela veliko razočarenje...ni M.od firme kakva je nekad bila Prestrašno i žalosno...tuga moj narode,velika tuga Stara ekipa otišla u zasluženu mirovinu,a ovi koji danas rade po objektima ...??? Ne razumijem Gdje je otišao taj turizam...? Kamo nas ovo vodi...? Nisu krivi zaposlenici nažalost....nego oni koji nas vode...a tko je to...? Pa gdje gledaju....sta rade...? Nevjerojatno.loše....jako loše SITUACIJA ALARMANTNA Žalosna istina da zaplačeš 😓 I kako sada da preporučim gostima(turistima) Maistru ....kada me pitaju za preporuku...????

We booked the adapted bungalow for the privacy of the terrace, ideal for our little dog, although it seemed a bit older than others. They are in front of the parking lot and the reception. The supposed "direct access to the beach" actually leads to a road with traffic and no crosswalk; after crossing it, there is a pine forest and then the beach (where dogs are also prohibited). Better to go by car. The complex is quiet, with everything you need to cook and rest, and well located for visiting nearby coves and beaches. However, the check-in was uncomfortable and unprofessional, and there are many flies (although this is normal for the area). In conclusion, we would not repeat: for the same price there are campsites in the province with better quality service and accommodation.

Nice campground / vacation park. Quiet and suitable for water sports. The location is a bit remote. In bad weather you have to drive quite a bit to get to a city. But everything nicely cared for and beautifully landscaped.

We were a larger group of 10 boys and we had a very nice time in the naturist area. However, I would like to say that it is very sad that this campsite, which is steeped in history, is now placing more emphasis on textile camping and naturists are being marginalized. It is also sad that you can no longer move freely around the island and that it is now only designated as a textile zone. Furthermore, the fence is a demarcation reminiscent of the USSR era. It is also noticeable that many guests from the textile area come to the naturist area to sunbathe. Which is ok in itself, but the space at the water's edge becomes very crowded. Perhaps the naturist area could be enlarged and more naturist zones could be set up by the sea and the island could be designated as a naturist zone again! A lot of the old charm is being lost and the old values, which is why the campsite is so famous, are being watered down and betrayed more and more. It may well be that the management is hoping for more visitors but, especially in this day and age, it should be a bulwark for less coercion imposed from above and act more as a beacon for freedom!!! Perhaps you will take this criticism on board a little and adjust the boundaries for the nudist zone. I would love to give you 5 stars but due to the massive reduction of the nudist area, the massive investment in the textile area and the total demarcation with a visual fence are unfortunately not worth 5 stars at the moment!!!

had wonderful vacation, sea view. Food delicious and plenty of variety. been coming here for 25 years. next year again.

Quiet, pleasant campsite close to Angers shopping center. Our rental (kingstone) was good, very comfortable bedding, 2 top bathrooms. This rental perhaps lacks a little natural light (a window on the living room side would bring more light). Please note that the cleaning needs to be reviewed (crumbs on arrival, very greasy dishes). The smiling, pleasant cleaner acted quickly (small problem with a switch). I recommend this campsite. We'll be back regularly.
