Beautiful location and camping

We spent one night in late June in a tent overlooking the lake. The tent is well-equipped, and the hosts are really very friendly. We'll be back.

We’ve been at a preseason site for six years now, and we’re very happy with “our” spot. While it looked a bit different six years ago than it does now, we have nothing but praise for the hard work they’ve put in. But to call yourself a 5-star campground—that, unfortunately, falls into the category of overestimation. There are still quite a few challenges ahead for the organization in every aspect of what the campground has to offer. The fact that there are some reasons for this here and there is simply a sign of the times. Finding the right staff and carrying out the necessary work are certainly not the easiest tasks. In the hospitality sector, more investment is needed—and should be made—as there are definitely shortcomings here and there. Hiring additional managers for this purpose doesn’t automatically mean that the “machine” will run smoothly. Rather, they need to demonstrate how things should be done, and—with a few exceptions—there is clearly a need for this. The restroom facility remains a sticking point year after year. The unnecessary misuse of this (still free) facility also requires attention. Visual monitoring is very important in this regard. The frequent lack of toilet paper, soap, and hand sanitizer in the restrooms, unfortunately, occurs far too often. The use—and especially the prolonged use, or rather misuse—of the showers, particularly the family shower, by children who think they can occupy the showers for ages by shouting at the top of their lungs, occupying the showers for ages, and—even worse—slamming the doors open instead of closing them, is a particular thorn in the side of older visitors. . Likewise, the presence of electric scooters—and certainly the speed at which they zoom past you—is bound to cause problems eventually. In fact, this gets worse every year. The store, on the other hand, offers a wide selection and has reasonable hours. The swimming water—and especially that green sludge that washes up against the beach—doesn’t exactly invite you to swim; it would take very little effort to remove it in the morning before guests start using the beach. The indoor playground sometimes looks like a war zone. I attribute 75% of the responsibility for standards and values here to the parents, because this isn’t just about feeding children, but above all about raising them. It’s a shame that the beach pavilion closes too early in anticipation of Breebronne’s weather conditions. My advice here is to wait until the time is right. It remains for me to say that hard work is being done to create a gem in North Limburg of which they can be proud, but continuing to invest in all areas is a must so that, in the end, they can hold their heads high and proudly say they are a 5-star campground. The rooms are fine and clean. Not all dining options are open every day. There aren't enough staff, and they aren't friendly either. They all speak English, too. The accommodations are a bit limited—I'm a little disappointed.

We were there during the off-season, so we experienced the ultimate peace and quiet. A lovely cottage in a wooded area where you can hear the birds singing, with a beautiful river nearby and a nice pool.

The river is an amazing resource and the site layout offers plenty of options for shade or full sun. The staff were very helpful arranging for an extended lead so that we could stay on a particular pitch which had no power but we liked the location for shade and they assisted us freely, which we very much appreciated.

We spent a week in this beautiful village, which offers many different types of accommodations. We chose to try camping with our 3- and 7-year-old children: IT WAS AMAZING! We chose the Safari tent (with an en suite bathroom), but the resort also offers shared bathrooms (including ones for kids, all kid-friendly!), a laundry room, and a dishwashing area—all of which worked perfectly and were spotlessly clean! The tent was clean and equipped with fans; it gets very hot during the day, but at night, surrounded by nature, we stayed nice and cool! We didn’t have any problems with bugs or anything else… our kids fell head over heels in love with the entertainment! Christopher sends a big hug to Carla and her friend Nicola, the lifeguard; Emily sends one to Vlad, who had her play lots of sports games and was always a whirlwind of energy… and Nunzio, our idol for the evening dance!!!!
