Looking for a unique place to stay with your friends? The Herdwick Safari Tent is a cosy glamping hideaway on a private farm near Hertford, set right beside a peaceful lake. It’s the perfect mix of nature, comfort and a little bit of luxury – ideal for a relaxed getaway with your favourite people.

The spacious safari tent sleeps up to 6 guests, with two comfy double beds (one elevated for that cool treehouse-feel) and two single pull-out futons that are great for kids or extra friends. There’s a stylish roll-top bath and a well-equipped bathroom, so you can enjoy a hot soak after a day out in the fresh air.

Inside, you’ll find an open-plan kitchen and living area where you can cook together, share a bottle of wine and play games late into the evening. On warm days, slide open the doors and move outside to your private decking. Fire up the BBQ, sit back with a drink and enjoy wide countryside views as the sun goes down.

The private hot tub is the star of the show. Whether you’re unwinding after exploring Hertford or simply staying put at the farm, it’s the perfect spot to relax, chat and stargaze. With the calm lake just in front of you, it feels like your own little world.

During your stay, you’ll have free access to the on-site farm park, home to alpacas, lambs and pigs – fun to visit with friends or if you’re travelling with children. You’ll also get a discount at the farm shop, where you can pick up local produce for breakfast, lunch or a special dinner back at the tent.

Even though you’re surrounded by fields and fresh air, you’re only minutes away from Hertford’s shops, pubs and restaurants, plus sights like Hertford Castle. If you love walking, don’t miss the scenic Chadwell Way Sculpture Trail nearby.

Please note: no open flames are allowed inside the tent, swimming in the lake is not permitted, and the elevated bed may not be suitable if you have limited mobility. Pets are welcome for an extra fee, but groups looking to party should look elsewhere – this is a place for chilled-out glamping, lazy evenings and quality time together in nature.
