The Rushy Lot is a beautifully designed rural cabin for up to four guests, tucked away in the woods with wide views over the water. Inspired by traditional clinker fishing boats from coastal spots like Lindisfarne Island in Northumberland, this glamping hideaway blends nautical charm with a cosy, modern interior.

Step outside onto your private front decking or relax in the gravelled side area and soak up the views over the lake towards Bristol Lodge, once home to author Catherine Cookson. It’s the perfect place to start your day with a coffee, watch the wildlife on the water, or wind down with a drink as the sun sets.

Inside, you’ll find everything you need for an easy, relaxed stay in any season. The well-equipped kitchenette comes with a sink, kettle, toaster, fridge with small ice box, double ceramic hob and electric oven with grill, so you can cook simple meals without any fuss. A fold-down dining table with chairs creates a cosy spot for shared breakfasts, games or lazy dinners.

After a day outdoors, stretch out in front of the 28" smart TV with DVD player and make use of the WiFi for streaming, planning walks or keeping in touch. The en-suite shower room has a flushing toilet, shower, sink and shaver socket, so you don’t have to compromise on comfort. An electric heater keeps the cabin warm and snug all year round.

The Rushy Lot is also a lovely choice if je reist met kinderen. Outside, they can let their imagination run wild in the nautical-themed play area, complete with cargo net, slide, balance beams, small boat and raised platform – ideal for pirate games and mini-adventures. For quieter moments together, grab the bird spotting and stargazing guides or the OS explorer maps that are provided, and head out to explore the woods, water and wildlife around you.
