Looking for a cosy escape in nature with a fun twist? Wheatley’s Glamping is a charming boat‑inspired cabin right by the lake, perfect for a relaxing break with family or friends. The cabin is designed to look like an upturned fishing boat, just like the traditional ones you’ll find on the Northumberland coast – so you get that authentic maritime vibe, but with all the comforts you need all year round.

Inside, you’ll find a bright and welcoming space that comfortably sleeps up to four adults and one child. There’s a comfy king-size bed and a double sofa bed, plus a curtained-off sleeping area so everyone enjoys a bit of privacy. The well-equipped kitchenette makes it easy to whip up breakfast, a simple lunch or a cosy dinner. You’ll have a sink, fridge with ice compartment, double ceramic hob, electric oven with grill, kettle and toaster at your disposal.

The living area is snug and warm thanks to the electric heater, and is the perfect spot to chill out after a day outside. Stream your favourite shows on the 28" smart TV, pop in a DVD, or catch up online with the WiFi. The en-suite bathroom has a flushing toilet, shower and shaver socket, so you don’t have to compromise on comfort.

Step outside and the real magic begins. Your private decking leads to a gravelled area with seating around a firepit and BBQ. It’s an ideal place to unwind with a drink, toast marshmallows, or simply watch the sun set over the lake with views towards Bristol Lodge, once home to author Catherine Cookson.

Families are very welcome here. Kids can let their imagination run wild in the nautical-themed play area, complete with slide, cargo net, balance beams and a small boat, specially designed for children aged 3 to 12. On site, there are six unique cabins in total, including Blackcleugh, Humbleton and The Wonneys, each with its own views and character.

To make your stay even more special, you can use the wildlife and stargazing guides, plus OS Explorer maps to head out and explore the beautiful surroundings. Whether you’re into peaceful lakeside walks, nights by the fire or simply slowing down in nature, Wheatley’s Glamping is a wonderful spot for a memorable break.
