General information

Looking for a back-to-nature glamping escape with your favourite people? This spacious Bedouin Bell Tent is tucked away in a magical woodland clearing on the Hampshire–Berkshire border, near Newbury. It’s the perfect off-grid hideaway for a small group of friends who want campfire evenings, outdoor living and starry nights.

The bright, airy six-metre bell tent is styled with colourful rugs and cushions for a cosy Bedouin vibe. There’s a comfy double bed plus fold-out Z beds, with all bedding and towels provided, so you don’t have to pack the whole house. A private toilet, shower and sink are just a short stroll away, and outside you’ll find a decked seating area where you can enjoy long, lazy breakfasts or sunset drinks.

This place is all about simple pleasures. You’re completely off-grid, with no electricity in the tent, so you can really switch off. Need to charge your phone? Just pop over to the owners’ house. Inside, you’ve got everything you need to cook up a feast: an indoor wood burner, gas stove, BBQ, crockery, cutlery and bottled water. Bring your own wood, charcoal and tea lights to set the mood around the fire pit.

The surrounding woodland is your playground. Wander along secret paths, discover wood sculptures and soak up the peaceful atmosphere. It’s a relaxed, natural setting with free-roaming birds and dogs that might wander by and say hello. In the evenings, gather around the fire, share stories and enjoy the real camping feeling – but with the comfort of a proper bed.

When you feel like exploring, the village of Woolton Hill is close by, with shops, pubs, a post office and a monthly market. You’re also within easy reach of Highclere Castle (from Downton Abbey), The Chase nature reserve, Newbury Racecourse and scenic canal boat trips. The area is filled with walking and cycling routes, so there’s always an excuse to get outside.

Travelling with a larger group? Extra bell tents are available on site, and group discounts are possible on request. Whether you’re planning a chilled weekend with friends or an active outdoor break, this woodland bell tent is a unique base for your next glamping adventure.
