General information

Hidden in a magical woodland clearing in the heart of southern England, Bluebelle Glamping Pod is the perfect escape for anyone who loves nature but still wants comfort. Halfway between London and Bath and just outside Newbury, this cosy pod sits on 10 acres of private, ancient woodland – a peaceful place where you can truly switch off.

Bluebelle sleeps 2 adults in a comfortable double bed and up to 2 children on handy fold‑out Z-beds, making it ideal for a couple or a small family. Kids will love the freedom here: they can explore the woods, build camps, play on the tyre swing and collect fallen branches for the fire pits. You’ll have full run of the woodland, so there’s always a new corner to discover.

Outside, you can relax on your own decked seating area, perfect for your morning coffee or an evening drink under the trees. You have a private toilet, a piping hot shower and a sink, so you don’t need to share facilities with other guests. Inside, the pod is simple but well-equipped, with electricity, heating and a fridge to keep your snacks and drinks cool.

Cooking is all taken care of with your own outdoor cooking station. There’s a gas stove, BBQ, crockery, cutlery, pans, plus tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bottled water, a kettle and a toaster. All bedding and towels are provided, so you can travel light and focus on enjoying your stay. If you feel like being social, there’s also a communal covered seating area and a large brick firepit nearby.

The local village of Woolton Hill is within walking distance and has shops, a post office and three welcoming pubs, as well as a monthly market. The Newbury area offers plenty to do: visit Highclere Castle (famous as Downton Abbey), take the kids to 4 Kingdoms Adventure Farm Park, wander The Chase nature reserve, enjoy a day at Newbury Racecourse, explore museums or join a canal boat trip to Hungerford. Scenic walking and cycling routes start right from the site, so you don’t even need to get in the car.

Do keep in mind that friendly free-roaming birds and dogs may wander past your pod, adding to the relaxed, countryside feel. You’ll just need to bring your own wood, charcoal and tea lights for cosy evenings by the fire.
