Ferienhütte Trabochersee is a cosy wooden cabin on a large natural plot, just 300 metres from Lake Traboch in Styria. Here you stay in the peaceful “Erzberg Leoben” region, surrounded by mountains, forests and plenty of space to play and relax – ideal for couples and families with children.

The holiday home has two bedrooms and is best suited for 2 adults and 2 children. Please note: the stairs to the upper floor are quite steep, so it’s good to keep this in mind if you’re travelling with younger kids or anyone with limited mobility. Inside, you’ll find a warm, simple and comfortable atmosphere where you can really unwind after a day outdoors.

Nature lovers are in the right place here. The Eisenerz Alps rise up around you and offer impressive views and great hiking opportunities. This region is known for its mining history, and you can discover the biggest open-cast iron ore mine in Central Europe at the Styrian Erzberg in Eisenerz – a must-see for anyone who loves special landscapes and industrial heritage.

Families won’t get bored either. Nearby you’ll find the “Wilde Berg Mautern” wildlife park, an adventure paradise with animals, activities and attractions for kids. If you feel like a day of wellness and water fun, head to the ASIA Spa in the nearby town of Leoben for pools, saunas and relaxation for all ages.

Fancy exploring more of Styria’s natural beauty? The Gesäuse National Park – known as “Wild Water and Steep Rock” – is easily reached by car via the Präbichl pass. It’s a fantastic starting point for mountain tours, hikes and photo stops. You can also visit the Leopolsteiner See in Eisenerz or the famous Grüner See in Tragöß at the foot of the Hochschwab, voted Austria’s most beautiful hidden place in 2014.

Motorsport fans are in luck too: the Formula 1 Red Bull Ring in Spielberg/Zeltweg is only about 30 km from Lake Traboch. Combine your nature holiday with a visit to a Grand Prix or another racing event.
