Magnificent campsite in a great location on the banks of the Semois, with a lovely heated swimming pool! The pitches are large and there's a choice of locations to suit everyone's tastes, from beautiful hedges and trees to flat plains. Absolutely not the onion-row campsite, the layout is well designed and the vegetation is abundant. The sanitary facilities are modern, with hot water and toilet paper, and very well maintained several times a day. Not always easy in rainy weather with the mud though! In season, there's a small mini-market with fresh bread and pastries every morning! The staff are very friendly and attentive. You can order French fries, delicious pizzas and ice creams in season, and the steak at the restaurant is well worth the detour! The campsite offers plenty of activities for children in season, and for older children there's a volleyball court. On the weekend of August 15, there's the Gaume Jazz Festival nearby for music fans. A campsite mainly occupied by Dutch people, very family-oriented and quiet. Surprising to speak Dutch in Gaume, but we manage to understand each other! I'd love to go back!

The price of the bungalow is quite expensive compared to what you get. Of course, during high season, prices are generally higher, but still it's too experience.
We came to Belgium hoping for a more French-speaking atmosphere, but during our stay, the campsite felt very Dutch-speaking. Most of the people around us were Dutch-speaking, and the entertainment and singers also seemed to be mainly aimed at Dutch-speaking guests. The swimming pool is quite small. There is also the Semois right next to the campsite, but unfortunately, you cannot really swim, fish or kayak there. I also feel that the pictures on the website make the river area look much bigger than it actually is. In reality, only a small area is accessible, and there isn’t much you can do there. Also no Wi-Fi. Working poorly if you are lucky.
There is a small sandy area for children to play, as well as a reception and a café/restaurant. However, compared with other campsites we have stayed at, I found the facilities and activity areas quite limited.Overall, I found the campsite just OK, considering the price of the bungalow and what is available, I expected more. That’s why I’m giving it 3 stars. But for sure it's really a quite camping, you can enjoy the calm atmosphere.

A super fun, cozy, and charming campground. We stayed at Chênefleur last year and went back again this year (with a tent and a pop-up tent). The campground has a playful layout with small fields and spacious sites. The atmosphere is really nice, with all kinds of people and lots of kids. Our children, ages 9 and 11, had a truly fantastic time this year, just like last year. They played a lot of soccer on the various fields, played kubb, and in the evenings played “hunting season” with the other kids at the campground.
In between, they cooled off in the pool during the day, fished in the little river, and built dams in the river. So much fun!
The restrooms are fine—a bit dated but perfectly usable and, most importantly, clean, which is what matters most to us. And of course, there are people who, unfortunately, don’t leave things clean—but you find that at every campground, unfortunately. Next to the main restroom building, there’s a large freezer for guests where you can store things—very convenient! The staff is helpful and friendly. The campground is otherwise quiet, and we really enjoy coming here. There’s also plenty to do and see in the surrounding area: Bouillon (including a visit to the fort), Bastogne (Bastenaken) War Museum (consisting of two parts of the museum and, a short drive away, the foxholes), Luxembourg, Orval Abbey, kayaking on the Semois, a visit to Au Coeur de L’Ardoise (a slate mine—highly recommended!), and a high ropes course on the same grounds. It was another very successful vacation!
    See you next year!
