Virton's public market takes place every Friday morning throughout the year. Also visit the Gaume Museum, housed in parts of a former seventeenth-century monastery. Its collection introduces you to the region through archaeology, art, folklore, furniture, traditions and local legends. Afterwards, continue your walk through the town and look out for the heritage that recalls Virton's long history. Combine culture, local atmosphere and a pleasant terrace break, and discover for yourself why Virton is called the heart of the Gaume.

Would you like to experience what the Maginot Line looked like from the inside? Fort Fermont near Beuveille is a large artillery fortress that has largely been preserved in its original condition. During a guided tour, you descend about thirty metres underground and discover corridors, living quarters, technical installations and weaponry. You travel part of the route on an original electric train. Above ground, you can also visit an open-air museum featuring military equipment from the fortifications. The entire underground complex extends for several kilometres and gives an impressive impression of the scale of the French defensive line. Allow plenty of time for your visit and discover a remarkable piece of military history from France during that turbulent period of the twentieth century.

There’s too much furniture in a space that’s too small, and everything you can do is quite a drive away. The front desk and the campground store aren’t always open during business hours. There’s supposed to be entertainment, but you can’t find any information anywhere about when or what they do. The pool is small and often overcrowded. Also, the pool wasn’t always clean. In short, not a place I’d want to return to.

Stayed at this campground for 3 nights. Pros:
    - The location is beautiful
    - Playground and swimming pool available
    - There are supermarkets and other stores within walking/biking distance.
    - The staff is friendly and hardworking.

    Cons:
    - - hygiene/bathroom facilities. We found this to be a major drawback.
(The showers are … small, outdated, and not clean. The toilet paper ran out several times; there was no hand soap; the water temperature wasn’t consistent—sometimes cold and sometimes very hot. We weren’t able to shower with our baby, partly because the plug for the baby bathtub was missing).

The pool is nice to have, and it was nice and warm. There are either too many guests for the pool, or the pool is too small for the number of guests. It just depends on how you look at it. But it’s fine for a quick refreshing dip.

The stay was okay, although we’ve had better experiences at a 4-star campground.

3 nachten op deze camping gestaan. Plus:

    Min:

The campground's restroom facilities were not cleaned thoroughly enough during this period. Dirty restrooms, dirty showers, no toilet paper or soap restocked, and unfriendly cleaning staff. The fry shop is run by incompetent staff. I waited half an hour, only to be told when it was finally my turn that they were out of fries. A disappointing stay!

Teleurgesteld verblijf!

An unpleasant experience right from the start.

We had reserved 3 campsites for 20 people (a Scout group) aged 16 to 24, and when we arrived, the receptionist looked at our scarves and said, “Oh, you’re Scouts? “If I’d known, I never would have rented you the campsites.”
The following evening, even though we were following the rules (no … noise after a certain time, sorting trash, etc.), the security guard went up to one of the young people in my group to tell him that he wouldn’t hesitate to take action if we didn’t follow the rules, since we’re a group.
On the other hand, teenagers shouting until midnight is perfectly acceptable.

I won’t go into detail about the lack of maintenance of the restrooms, which are disgusting, the eroded shower trays, and the fact that you have to choose between a shower with the right temperature but no water pressure, or a shower with good water pressure but so hot you could cook pasta in it.

This is a campground created by Dutch people for Dutch people. People stare at us when we speak French, and the campground’s default language is Dutch.

The pool is far too small for the number of people at the campground, and there are no lifeguards to enforce the rules.

I do not recommend it, and I regret having spent several nights there.

It was a bit of a shame that a cottage for four people didn't have two bedrooms. I also thought it was a shame that the waitstaff in the restaurant only spoke French.

Very unfriendly staff at the front desk.
The condition of the restrooms leaves much to be desired.
The showers have only cold water, and you can't adjust the temperature.
