Camping Aminess Maravea

There is potential here, but the entire operation needs to be reviewed.
The check-in process needs to be revised. If clear size requirements are specified at the time of booking, they must be taken into account. Assigning a site that cannot be reached by the vehicle specified in the reservation is unacceptable. Not allowing guests to view their assigned site before check-in just wastes time, as they then have to find an alternative solution. Furthermore, the access paths to the sites must be cleared of plants and branches; they shouldn’t be allowed to grow to the point of blocking access to the site or causing damage to the vehicle. There’s no point in having pitches for large vehicles if they can’t be reached.
Unfortunately, while you have the potential to happily accommodate large vehicles, customers driving such vehicles won’t return because they’ll be dissatisfied.

The campground was very crowded; not enough showers and restrooms. Good location.

The campsite itself is great, it is quite expensive which would be okay, but it is weird it charges extra for the sunbeds in the pool. The receptionists were great, thank you Jan for the kind check in. The Sanitary units were very clean and there was always somebody closeby, cleaning. The pitch was great, we had a very private pitch with shadow.

Review of the Aminess Maravea Campground in Novigrad

We booked the Aminess campground in Novigrad by phone four days before our arrival. When we made the reservation over the phone, we were told that the Premium campsites we booked were located about 150 meters from the water.

Upon arrival, we took a look around the campground—and, of course, the campsites—while checking in. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The restroom facilities are in poor condition, and the campground as a whole, unfortunately, does not give the impression of being well-maintained or up-to-date.

The premium campsites were also a major disappointment for us: no shade, a gravel surface, and an unpleasant situation due to the dust. Especially since we were traveling with our 7-month-old baby, it was particularly important to us to get a shaded campsite. However, we were told on site that everything was fully booked and we couldn’t get a shaded spot.

Understandably, we then wanted to look for another campground. However, we were told that we would have to pay €106 for the first night. We therefore initially decided to stay at least one night. However, we weren’t allowed to do that either—we were told we had to either stay for the entire booked period or pay for two nights.

The discussion with the staff was, unfortunately, extremely unpleasant. We found the staff to be very unfriendly and not at all solution-oriented. We were simply told over and over again that the relevant terms were stated exactly as such in the reservation.

In the end, we left absolutely furious without even spending the night at the campground. What was particularly frustrating: Despite not staying the night, we were charged for the occupancy fee and the tourist tax. The €3 tourist tax was only reluctantly refunded to us in the end.

For us, the whole experience was absolutely unacceptable. Based on the information we received over the phone, we had different expectations and, once there, felt neither well-informed nor treated in a customer-oriented manner.

Our conclusion: We absolutely do not recommend this campground. In our opinion, families with small children in particular should think very carefully about whether they want to book here. We would definitely not visit this campground again.
