Summary created out of 241 reviews

Camping Lanterna is an extensive holiday park located directly on the Adriatic coast, featuring a wide range of facilities including swimming pools, an aquapark, a sandy beach, and various restaurants. Guests particularly appreciate the cleanliness, friendly staff, modern sanitary facilities, and the wide selection of children's activities. The park offers a well-maintained environment with plenty of entertainment and sports opportunities. The main points of attention are the high prices for extras such as sun loungers, food and drinks, the large distances across the site requiring bikes or scooters, and the crowds during high season when pools and beaches can be overcrowded.

We had a campsite right by the sea. Beautiful, clear water and a clean beach. The restroom facilities were always well-maintained and in good condition.
The opportunity to visit the surrounding towns by bike seems to be somewhat limited. That’s what they told us at the front desk. They recommended taking the bus or a taxi. A bus ride to Poreč costs €5 per person. A water taxi to Novigrad costs €7 per person.
We think that’s just too expensive. That’s why we’re moving on today. The campground is certainly great for people who
don’t want to go on excursions or who have a car with them.
Oh, and we think it’s important to mention that some of the staff at the front desk are very unfriendly. In contrast, the housekeeping staff were always attentive and cheerful.

Unfortunately, I can only agree with much of what has been described (negatively) by one or two reviewers. This is the first—and certainly the last—time we’ll stay at this campground. It completely fails to meet a normal standard of “value for money.” Dirty restrooms—some of which are in dire need of renovation—coupled with an insane desire to fleece campers—€9 for a load of laundry?! Then there’s the fact that if you have a dog (we also have a child), you’re always “assigned” the worst section of the beach. The four-legged friends have to pay too, so why should I, as a dog owner, have to lie on nothing but a stone slab? This campground has neither character nor anything special that would set it apart from others. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend it in any way. The campsite itself was okay—except for the Poles next door who were drunk every day.
    Update:
After we complained, we were offered a new spot. The atmosphere here is much more relaxed. Thanks to the front desk! The restroom here is much better maintained.
A somewhat conciliatory note to wrap things up, even if it meant a bit of the stress of moving around

We rented a "Premium Istria Mobil Home, Luxury Mobil Home" in Zone L of the campground. Ana was our contact. Ana was very helpful and very responsive whenever we needed anything. The mobile home is clean and located in a quiet part of the campground (Zone L), which is a definite plus because the “central” part of the campground can get really noisy with so many people constantly passing by. The campground is very clean and well-maintained, but the facilities are inadequate for the huge number of vacationers there. We were traveling with four children aged 11, 12, 14, and 15. The campground advertises that there are 10 pools and lots of water slides. Before we arrived, the kids were so excited. But unfortunately, when they saw the size of the pools, the size of the slides, and the number of people there, they spent a total of just one hour at the pool the entire week... So, a big disappointment on that front...

Regardless of Ana, I don’t recommend this campground. It’s way too big, and the pools are way too small given the number of guests. No large pools, just a multitude of small ones; you have to pay for lounge chairs at the pool (€15 for one chair or €30 for two chairs plus a umbrella!!!), so they’re always empty... (Under these circumstances, they just take up space for nothing...), you have to pay for everything, even the ping-pong tables—even though we had our own paddles and balls (€5 for 1 hour!!!)—no entertainment, no sports activities in the pools. The sandy beach is packed. It’s better to stay away from the campground’s beaches and head further along the “lungomare” path—you’ll find it much quieter there, and the scenery and the sea are much more beautiful.
