Go out to Silkeborg
Silkeborg is located close to the park and is a lively city on the lake Silkeborg Langsø. Walk through the centre, have coffee on a terrace by the water and visit the weekly market where local producers display vegetables, cheese and fish. In the Silkeborg museum you can see the Tollund Man, a peat bog body more than 2,000 years old that has been surprisingly well preserved. After a morning in the city, you cycle back via the lakes.
Sail along the Gudenå
The river Gudenå is Denmark's longest river and begins just near Silkeborg. Rent a canoe or kayak in the city and paddle through the lake district Søhøjlandet, where the water becomes narrower and the banks are densely overgrown with alder and reeds. The route between Silkeborg and Ry is one of the most popular day trips on the water.
Visit ARoS in Aarhus
ARoS Aarhus Art Museum is one of the largest art museums in Scandinavia and is about 44 km from Silkeborg. On top of the building is a circular walkway of colored glass, Your Rainbow Panorama by Olafur Eliasson, which lets you see the city through an ever-changing color filter. Inside, the permanent collection and temporary exhibitions alternate across multiple floors. After visiting the museum, it is a fifteen-minute walk to Aarhus's old city center.
Taste wine from Jutland
Skærvadhus Vineyard is located about 42 km from Silkeborg and is one of the northernmost vineyards in Denmark. Taste the estate's own wines on site and learn how grapes grow at this latitude. A visit offers a surprisingly different picture of the Danish countryside.

I have to say that, in my opinion, the campground’s main draws are its great view and the really nice owners.
What I personally found absolutely appalling, however, was the overall condition of the facility. Unfortunately, a lot of it seemed a bit cobbled together and not really well thought out.
For example, the pool slide had a … plastic step in one section and a wooden step in another—overall, it didn’t give the impression of being particularly well-maintained. The restrooms are also clearly showing their age.
Unfortunately, the cleaning company we dealt with was also very unfriendly. We were particularly disappointed by the playground: parts of it were so neglected and dirty that we actually didn’t want to let our child use it.
The location and view are truly beautiful, and the owners are very nice. That’s precisely why it’s a shame that the overall condition of the campground doesn’t live up to this positive impression.this is a translation, click here for the original
Ich muss sagen, dass der Campingplatz meiner Meinung nach vor allem von seiner tollen Aussicht und den wirklich netten Eigentümern lebt.
Was ich persönlich allerdings absolut unterirdisch empfunden habe, war der allgemeine Zustand der Anlage. Vieles wirkte leider etwas zusammengeflickt und nicht wirklich durchdacht.
Zum Beispiel war an der Poolrutsche teilweise eine Plastikstufe und teilweise eine Holzstufe verbaut – insgesamt machte das keinen besonders gepflegten Eindruck. Auch die sanitären Einrichtungen sind deutlich in die Jahre gekommen.
Leider war auch die Reinigungsfirma, mit der wir zu tun hatten, sehr unfreundlich. Besonders enttäuscht waren wir vom Spielplatz: Dieser war teilweise dermaßen ungepflegt und schmutzig, dass wir ihn mit unserem Kind eigentlich nicht nutzen wollten.
Die Lage und Aussicht sind wirklich schön und die Eigentümer sehr nett. Gerade deshalb ist es schade, dass der restliche Zustand des Campingplatzes diesem positiven Eindruck nicht gerecht wird. -

We didn’t stay at the campground; we just rented a canoe. Three people can fit in one canoe, and it cost 100 kroner total for one hour. The campground provides the paddles, life jackets, and a key. We didn’t have to pay a deposit. Then you walk down, and the canoes are already by the water—you can unlock them with the key. Then you can head out … onto the water and have plenty of options for where to go. Highly recommended and much cheaper than other rental spots in the area.

Wij hebben niet op de camping gestaan maar alleen een kano gehuurd. Je kan met 3 personen in 1 kano en dat kostte 100 kronen in totaal voor 1 uur. Je krijgt van de camping de peddels, zwemvesten en een sleutel. Wij hoefden geen borg te betalen. Vervolgens loop je naar beneden en liggen de kano’s al bij het water die je met de sleutel kan losmaken. En dan kan je heerlijk het water op en heb je genoeg keuze waar je heen gaat varen. Een aanrader en veel goedkoper dan andere verhuur plekken in de buurt
