Castle Virieu was built in the 11th century. Today, it has the impression of a medieval fortress with an impressive dungeon, a studded entrance gate and a courtyard that houses cannons donated by Louis XIII in 1622.Inside you will find beautiful rooms and the castle is surrounded by an impressive French garden.Located 15 km from the campsite, the castle is well worth a visit.

This zoo is less than a 6-minute drive from the campsite and has many impressive residents such as white tigers, jaguars, wolves and cheetahs.For "thrill rides" and roller coasters, visit Walibi Rhône-Alpes.This amusement park is a 20-minute drive from the campsite and has more than 30 attractions for young and old.

So on hot days you can make it a pleasant beach day and take a refreshing dip in the water. If you are looking for something more active, you can rent a pedal boat or take a sailboat out on the lake. Around the lake are several hiking trails that take you past beautiful unspoiled natural areas. Do you prefer to travel on two wheels? No problem, there are beautiful mountain bike and cycling routes with panoramic views of the lake.

    Veel. Comfort van een tent met sanitair maar toch op een camping.

    Leuke, sfeervolle safaritent op een hele fijne camping (camping kenden wij al, safaritent was nieuw voor ons). De schoonmaak was erg goed.

    Mooie camping met heel behulpzaam en vriendelijk personeel. Mooi aangelegd, veel bloemen, mooie bomen. Prachtige omgeving. Veel bezienswaardigheden zijn wel even rijden (45-60 min.). Camping voelde nog wel klein aan, maar dit is wat ons betreft wel de maximum grootte voor een enigszins kleine en overzichtelijke camping. Sanitair was schoon, douches altijd warm. Prima restaurant. Iets teveel animatie naar onze smaak, maar ‘te doen’.

    Sfeervolle en mooie tent met mooie buitenplek. Fijne stevige tafel en fijne stoelen buiten. Type stoel binnen neemt te veel ruimte in voor wat het is (hebben we niet gebruikt). Keuken was praktisch en goed. Slaapkamer met tweepersoonsbed: houten stellage was wat ons betreft overbodig en meer een hoofstoter dan een toegevoegde waarde. Matras was erg hard.
