Lovely campsite. Pitches nicely shaded within trees and good privacy. Bar and cafe pleasant although the range of food slightly limited of good quality. Pizza lovely

Maybe a bit harsh only giving 3 * but we’ve not stayed in an Huttopia site before and probably wouldn’t again.
Its location is on a very steep hill out of Clermont Ferrand and Royat within what seems like a housing estate. We have a campervan and didn’t want to move it so you need all your food before you get there.
Reception was very good and spoke exceptional English thank you. Good information about buses which we used to get to CF and Puy de Dome car park all for 1.60 euro each way!
Bar facilities were limited in opening times and no meals available except weekend. At end of June I would have thought they could offer more.
Our pitch was up the top - good, flat and shady. It was quiet and near toilet block.
The toilet block was new but I never felt it had a thorough clean each day especially the floors. Felt like a half hearted approach from some of the staff - very young and didn’t seem interested in their job at all!
If the pitches were all in use it would feel very busy and little privacy- not our thing.
The swimming pool was good but again I could imagine it being busy and noisy in July/ august.
It might work for some people but we missed any views from the campsite especially the Domes. However we got out and visited them using public transport.

We came as a family for an overnight stay; we loved the RV site, tucked away in a quiet, peaceful, and green setting.
The showers and restrooms were clean.
On the practical side, we arrived after closing time, but everything was well prepared—including the site number and access code...
A plus: the pool closes at 9 p.m., which is convenient after a late arrival.

Unfortunately, it’s not at all suited for hot weather; it gets stiflingly hot in the wooden cabins, and there’s no air conditioning anywhere—not even at the bar (for a 5-star campground, that’s really unacceptable). The trees aren’t big enough to provide any shade, and the pool is right in the blazing sun. (It would have been smart to put it under a canopy.)
Furthermore, in the middle of a heat wave, you can only buy ice cream, a cold drink, or even get something to eat between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. (absurd!)
There’s only one place to take out the trash in the entire campground, which is very large… not practical at all
Be sure to clean up meticulously, because if you leave a tissue under the bed or a piece of cucumber in the sink, they’ll charge you 120 euros!!!
It’s a shame because the campground has potential, but it needs to be adapted for the summer and maybe reevaluate a couple of aspects.
