Camping Les Trexons

A warm welcome, great sites, and incredibly friendly campground owners. We had a shaded spot; the rest of the field was pretty much in the sun. Fun activities that fit the campground’s vibe: nature walks for kids, wine tasting, yoga, and something to eat almost every evening (Teun’s fry shop—delicious and fantastic— a crêperie (made by Teun), a … pizza cart, and we loved the food and atmosphere at Ferme de Hazard (the burgers were a bit less impressive, but the ice cream more than made up for it!). The bread in the morning was also delicious! The playground was a bit dated but especially fun for the little ones. The restrooms were reasonably clean (cleaned twice a day), but I think small children and some people left them a bit less clean than they found them. The surroundings are fantastic, nestled between the two large lakes (Gerardmer and Longemer) and with the Col de la Schlucht and Col du Calvaire within easy reach. In high season, it’s almost exclusively Dutch people and lots of kids, but from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m., we found it wonderfully quiet. We definitely recommend this campground! Read more Show less

A really great campground for kids. I spent a week there this vacation with my 8-year-old son. The campground is spacious, so you have plenty of room to yourself. There’s plenty for kids to play with on the grounds. There’s a trampoline, a playground, a ping-pong table, and the play stream. Plenty of variety, and it’s nice that there’s no … organized entertainment—it’s not needed here anyway. It’s wonderfully cool by the play stream, and as a parent, you can relax on the bench and chairs. It’s a perfect stream for building little dams. We visited two climbing forests. We liked the one at Lac Blanc best.
The only area for improvement is the restroom facilities, but that wouldn’t be a reason for me to stop going there. Read more Show less

We stayed here for 1.5 weeks in the summer of 2026 with our 3-year-old daughter and a baby. In May 2026, they announced they were removing the pool for sustainability reasons. The owners mention there’s a little stream for splashing around. The stream itself is nothing to write home about—see the photos. It’s half a meter wide with water up to … your ankles. The access needs some work. The campground is a 15-minute drive from Longemer, where you can cool off nicely. So, no cooling off at the campground itself!!

The restrooms are very outdated. The water in the (kids’) shower and kiddie pool is either scalding hot or freezing cold. Try explaining that to your toddler. There aren’t enough facilities for the number of guests, so you’ll often have to wait for a free shower or toilet. On top of that, it’s all too often dirty.

There’s no restaurant at the campground, but you can order breakfast rolls in the morning. They also serve pancakes and fries weekly, a food truck with pizza stops by, and you can grab a burger around the corner every week.

There’s a large, unshaded field, so be sure to bring an awning. In the middle, there’s an (outdated) playground. It’s ideal for keeping an eye on your (young) children from your tent. You don’t see that very often in France, so this is a real plus. I think it’s fun for kids up to age 7 or 8. There were only Dutch people there, so it was easy to make friends.

Most guests were there with trailer tents; with our caravan, we were the exception. The rental accommodations and campsites are mixed together, which creates a nice atmosphere.

The location is great for exploring the Vosges and makes for a nice stopover for a few days on the way to Italy or southern France. The owners are very friendly and will help you out if you run into any problems. Read more Show less

A cozy family campground!

Great welcome, very friendly, a small, very quiet campground 😀👌👍

We had a wonderful vacation at this campground. Our kids, ages 5 and 7, had a blast. There were plenty of other kids their age. Beautiful sites and a really cozy and fun atmosphere. Highly recommended: Teun’s pancakes and fries!
