We had a very pleasant stay at La Fermette des Trois Tilleuls, where we truly felt disconnected from the digital world. We especially enjoyed the moments spent as a family around the wood-burning stove, chatting, playing board games, and indulging in little culinary treats.

Cooking with pots and pans on the barbecue or directly on the wood-burning stove is a unique experience that really adds to the change of scenery and gives the meals a special flavor.

However, there are a few areas for improvement. We would have appreciated more guidance on how to approach the animals safely, as well as the opportunity to participate in a few activities that would allow us to learn more about life on the farm.

The meal schedule could also use some adjustments: since delivery times vary, it’s not always easy to plan ahead for meal preparation, which does take some time—especially for lighting the stove and letting the food simmer. Finally, it would have been helpful to have recipes that matched the ingredients provided, especially for people who aren’t very comfortable in the kitchen.

These comments are mainly suggestions for improvement, as we overall have very fond memories of this experience and the time spent with our family.

It’s a bit of a mixed bag. A lovely campsite in a beautiful, peaceful setting, with plenty of privacy. Behind the tents is a meadow with 🦙 🦙, and cows in front. To get to the tents, you walk along a path through tall grass that also has nettles and thistles, so boots are recommended for small children. However, I found the farm experience a bit underwhelming. When I camped on a farm as a child, the farmer involved us in all sorts of farm activities; maybe I’d hoped for that here, too. But that wasn’t the case here. Walking with the alpaca 🦙 was super fun. The farmer is very friendly and speaks reasonable English; with my limited French, we managed to get by.
For the kids, there was a sort of sandbox to play in; it would be even more fun if there were a bit more of a playground so the kids could meet each other more easily and play together.
All in all, we had a great stay, but it didn’t quite live up to my expectations.
