Summary created out of 261 reviews

The campsite is ideally located for visits to Versailles and Paris, with the train station 10-15 minutes' walk away and excellent connections to the city centre. Guests appreciate the wooded, natural character of the site with plenty of shade, and praise the friendly and helpful staff. The sanitary facilities are regularly described as clean and functional, with hot water and heated spaces. The swimming pool and restaurant (especially pizzas) are popular amenities, as are the bread service and games activities for children. Areas for improvement include the often small, steep and uneven pitches that can be difficult to access, the high price, and mixed experiences with cleanliness and maintenance of sanitary facilities and electricity supply.

We’ve always had high praise for Huttopia. This campground is also perfectly located if you want to visit Versailles and Paris. For about €6 round-trip, you can get to Paris, which is, of course, ideal.

Unfortunately, the campsite we were assigned was very disappointing. The site sloped extremely steeply, making it practically impossible to get our trailer level. When we mentioned this at the front desk, it turned out there were no other spots available, so we had to make do with the one we were assigned. It was a real shame, because in the end, this even caused the support legs on our trailer to break.

We also found the campground to be quite dusty. The restrooms, on the other hand, were fine and clean. What we always really enjoy at Huttopia is the cozy bar with a terrace. The evening entertainment also creates a fun and lively atmosphere.

All in all, the location of this campground remains a major plus, especially for trips to Paris and Versailles. Unfortunately, the poor campsite made our stay a lot less enjoyable.

We chose this campground because of its location near the Palace of Versailles. Overall, it’s decent. There are plenty of restroom facilities, and they’re relatively clean. However, guests are always responsible for keeping the area clean, and that’s unfortunately where things often fall short. But the campsites are a disaster. We had a long, narrow site with little space to sit next to the camper and a lot of unused space behind it. The site is relatively noisy and very dusty. When it rains, it turns into a mud fight here. The baked goods—which, like at many other sites, you can buy here—are unworthy of France. Tough baguettes, soggy croissants. An outrage. The overnight rate of €100 per night (1 camper and 3 people) is already outrageously expensive. We’ll be giving this campground a wide berth in the future. We saw on our tour through Normandy that things can be different in France: fair prices, decent campsites, and delicious baked goods. It’s a shame—the campground has a lot of potential.

A well-maintained and clean campground, in a great location for visiting Versailles, close to Paris, and about 1 hour and 30 minutes from Giverny.
Heated pool and a nice bar.
PLEASE NOTE—If you’re camping in a tent like we were, the ground is hard and rocky, so be sure to bring suitable tent stakes.
