Summary created out of 59 reviews

The park is situated in a beautiful location by the river, close to the centre of Saint-Astier, offering spacious, shaded pitches in a peaceful setting. Guests appreciate the staff for their friendliness and availability, as well as the mobile homes and cabins with hot tubs that are available. However, the sanitary facilities are regularly criticised for their maintenance and cleanliness, and guests report that the swimming pool could be better maintained. The bar, activities, playground, and security measures at the entrance also require improvement according to reviewers.

I booked through Airbnb, even though I saw in the reviews that there had already been issues with overbooking. So I took the initiative and confirmed with the manager that there wouldn’t be any such problems. He confirmed that I could book and that there was no risk of overbooking.
A few days later, my reservation was canceled (five days before our arrival), reason: overbooking…

We were very disappointed with our stay at

. Unfortunately, our stay at this campground in the Périgord really didn’t live up to our expectations.

When we arrived, the mobile home was dirty, and we had to clean it before settling in. The mobile home wasn’t level, so we constantly felt like we were sleeping upside down. The shower didn’t close properly, causing leaks and damage to the walls. Most importantly, water from the shower, sink, and kitchen sink flowed directly onto the floor because there was no proper drainage. As a result, the floor was constantly damp, and there were a lot of mosquitoes.

Several items of equipment were also in very poor condition: damaged furniture, a cutting board in such a state that we didn’t dare use it, and a small broom left on the dish rack.

The check-in inspection is done on your own, without anyone from the campground present, unlike the check-out. Regarding the security deposit, our check was never returned. We were simply told that it had been torn up by mistake, without any proof or documentation of its destruction.

The pool was also very poorly maintained and dangerous in places, with loose tiles and a lot of weeds. As for the water slide, our children had to regularly go see the manager to have him refill the water or restart the pump so it would work. Unfortunately, the whole place gave the impression of a neglected campground.

Our neighbors also told us they had found bed bugs in their mobile home, although we personally did not encounter this problem.

We knew the main tourist attractions were about an hour away from the campground, and that didn’t bother us. However, upon arrival, we were clearly told at the front desk that there was practically nothing interesting to do in the immediate area and that we’d have to travel elsewhere.

The only truly positive aspect was the manager, who gave us good advice and recommended some beautiful places to visit.

It’s a shame, because with better maintenance, cleanliness, and upkeep of the facilities, our stay could have been very different. As it was, we unfortunately left feeling very disappointed.

We stayed in a cabin (chalet) with a hot tub (so lovely and very comfortable), and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay thanks to the warm welcome we received.
Since we have a 3-year-old, he had a blast in the pool and on the water slides… It was a wonderful stay during which we also got to meet some lovely people—thank you to the campground for this wonderful experience!

    A very pleasant campground.
A warm and very professional welcome. We went there in a camper van.
The campground has large, spacious, and shaded sites.
Clean restroom facilities with plenty of showers, sinks for washing dishes and laundry, and washing machines and dryers.
A pool with a water slide and a playground for kids with a swing set...
And, best of all, the river on-site lets you go for a swim; lounge chairs are also available.
This campground is truly excellent and offers unbeatable value for the money.
A site with electricity for one night during peak season costs €25.
    I highly recommend this campground.

A campground with great potential, very well located on the banks of the river, close to amenities, and shaded.
On the other hand, the grounds need some maintenance (broken basketball hoop, broken streetlight, pool isn’t really clean...). As for the restrooms, hygiene is seriously lacking—just a quick rinse isn’t enough. There’s no soap, and many sinks are leaking—on the bright side, when you brush your teeth, your feet smell like mint. Come for the setting, but don’t expect a high-end campground.
