I spent a week at this 4-star campground, which in my opinion deserves 2 stars—and even that’s a stretch—because the photos show a hot tub on the terrace, a large bedroom, etc., but none of that is actually there. … However, upon arrival, they charge you 30.40 euros per week for 2 adults and 1 small dog, even though the reservation was for 2 adults and 3 children; they also hold 150 euros from your account as a security deposit and for cleaning.The pool is swarming with wasps, and the mobile homes are crammed right up against one another. Parking your car isn’t easy with all the trees and mobile homes stacked on top of each other—let’s just say that if your neighbor opens the dining room window, they can see right into your car. You have to do the check-in inventory yourself, but upon checkout, everything is inspected—otherwise, they’ll keep your 150-euro security deposit.

Really very disappointed—no cell service, no internet, and it’s not easy to park your vehicle. Spots 206 and 236 are no longer accessible after 10:30 p.m.—even electric vehicles can’t get in. A total rip-off at 1,500 euros a week!! Read more Show less

We were very disappointed with this campground, which, in our opinion, falls far short of what we’d expect from a 4-star property. The mobile homes are standard, decent, and well-equipped, but you have to specify when booking if you want a TV. As for the rest, the amenities are very limited: the snack bar is only open starting at 3 p.m., the … pay-per-use washing machines come with detergent already included—though this isn’t clearly indicated—there’s no bouncy castle, and the playground is really nothing to write home about. The pool is also a major drawback: very little information on what’s allowed (drinks, kids’ snacks…), maintenance that disappointed us, and, most importantly, an incident involving a child’s feces in the pool—which, in our view, wasn’t closed long enough to allow for thorough cleaning and disinfection. We were also shocked to hear phrases like “get out of here” or “get lost” directed at children. Yes, they must follow the rules for the slides and the pool, but that doesn’t mean we can’t speak to them respectfully: they’re not dogs! There were also a lot of bees around the pool: many children stepped on them and got stung, sometimes multiple times. A sign explained that the bees were attracted to the water or chlorine and weren’t there to sting, but when so many children actually get stung, a sign isn’t enough. Communication was also very poor: events were canceled or postponed, which we sometimes only found out about once we arrived on site. You have to do the check-in inventory yourself, whereas the check-out inventory is particularly strict… We found this discrepancy unreasonable. There was also a serious lack of friendliness on the part of management and staff. And we were far from alone: when talking with other campers, many made exactly the same comments. Fortunately, there was one HUGE positive: TANOU, the activity leader, who was on his own running the activities but was always kind, smiling, approachable, and pleasant. With a real team supporting him, the activities would certainly have been much more numerous and dynamic. He was clearly doing his best with the resources at his disposal, and our disappointment regarding the activities is in no way directed at him. In the end, our best memories will be of TANOU and the wonderful encounters with the other campers, who brought the sense of community that was unfortunately missing at the campground. We spent 15 days (August 15–29, 2026) at Les Franquettes Campground. Honestly, it was the best! We had a wonderful stay, met great people, and made unforgettable memories. The staff was fantastic and always ready to help. We had a gas problem—we reported it to the front desk, and within 15 seconds, it was fixed.

In previous years, we’d … stayed at “Capfun”-style campgrounds, but honestly, we much preferred Les Franquettes—it’s friendly, family-oriented, and a lot of fun—the best! And we had a blast with Tanou, the activity leader 😅

One thing that could be improved is an outdoor covered area—like a tent or marquee—so we can enjoy the bar, music, and activities even when it rains. That’s the only thing missing to make this campground perfect.
