Cathar castles
Scattered throughout the rugged Languedoc countryside are the mysterious castles of the Cathars. These medieval castles once served as a refuge for the Cathars, a religious group persecuted in the 13th century. Today you can visit these castles and enjoy the impressive views. Montségur, Quéribus and Puilaurens are some of the most famous castles, each with a unique story. The ruins, built high on rocks, give a glimpse of the region's troubled past. The hike to the ruins is an adventure in itself, with winding paths and steep cliffs. Once at the top, you can explore the remains of walls, towers and chapels and relive the history of the Cathars. Built strategically, this castle was once connected to nearby Quéribus. Today it is an impressive place where you can immerse yourself in the medieval atmosphere. Whether you come for the history or the panorama, Château de Peyrepertuse is guaranteed to leave an impression.

A really lovely campground surrounded by nature. We stayed here for over two weeks in June. From the campground, you can take a lovely walk to an old castle, and the gorge is also nearby. It was still fairly quiet when we were there, but the restrooms and showers were excellent. The pool was also a great way to cool off, since it was quite warm in late June. Our campsite was spacious, and electricity and water were nearby. (The water here is drinkable; it comes from a natural spring.) We had a fantastic vacation at the campground.

Hello.
We stopped there (2 nights) during our motorcycle trip through the Pyrenees. They welcomed us with a smile, even outside of business hours.
A lovely campground, quiet and cool. Wake up to the sound of birds singing. The pool is a pleasant place to relax and cool off. The restrooms are clean.
Worth checking out.this is a translation, click here for the original
Bonjour.
