Visit some wine caves

The Pyrénées-Orientales has a rich tradition of winemaking, and the area is best known for its sweet fortified wines, such as Banyuls and Maury, which are made from grapes grown on steep terraces overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Many of the local wineries offer tours and tastings, so if you are a wine lover, the Pyrénées-Orientales is definitely a suitable region for a good glass of wine.

Discover Perpignan

The city of Perpignan is a 40-minute drive from the campsite and is known for its rich history, distinctly Catalan culture and unique blend of French and Catalan culture. In the city you will find the Palace of the Kings of Majorca, a magnificent Gothic palace built in the 13th century that served as the residence of the kings of Majorca. Don't forget the city's thriving culinary scene, with local specialties such as fresh seafood, Catalan stews and an array of delicious desserts and pastries. Several cultural festivals are held throughout the year, including the Estivales de Perpignan, a summer music and art festival, and the Visa Pour l'Image, an international festival of photojournalism.

Fun 20 minutes away

To have a fun day in the area, you don't have to drive far. Discover the impressive Grottes des Canalettes, just a 20-minute drive from Camping Canigou. These enchanting caves will amaze you with their stalactites, stalagmites and illuminated underground lakes. A special day in nature, and a magical experience for young and old alike! Another option 20 minutes away is a visit to beautiful Villefranche-de-Conflent, a medieval walled town. Stroll through the narrow streets, admire the impressive fortifications and sample local specialties in the cozy restaurants. Once back at glamping in France, unwind in your luxury safari tent.

The campsite is beautifully located in nature with a river flowing through it and a popular natural swimming pool. Guests praise the mountain location, the friendly and helpful Dutch staff, and the extensive range of outdoor activities such as climbing, canyoning and mountain biking. The campsite is particularly suitable for families with teenagers (13-21 years) who can gather until 02:00 in the evening, creating a lively and social atmosphere. The sanitary facilities are dated but generally clean, and there are complaints about limited opening hours and occasional noise disturbance at night from the youth.

We found refuge at the campground during the wildfires in early July, thanks to the owners’ kindness.
This place is beautiful, well-designed, and rejuvenating.
It helped me unwind. You have so many activities planned for both children and adults. A gorgeous pool with a beach area!!!
The mobile home was perfect and clean; it had everything we needed—even a hammock outside to relax in while listening to the cicadas sing.
It really is a place worth visiting—even just for a weekend, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped out of time.
Thank you so much for our stay.

Definitely wouldn't return here, went for the catalan barbecue and took 4hrs to have a meal. Teenagers out till 2.00 am making noise and shining torches at our motorhome. They then stole my 11 year olds new basketball he got for his birthday and my 8 year olds bat and ball.
    Over priced for the facilitys.

A fantastic entertainment team that gets everyone involved and leaves no one out—they go above and beyond to make every day a party. My teenagers were very happy; it’s without a doubt the best campground for young people I’ve ever been to!

A fantastic campground geared toward young people. We had a wonderful summer vacation with our kids (ages 15–21). It was great to have the natural lake as a swimming pool, and kudos to the entertainment staff who really create a fantastic atmosphere—they’re active and inclusive, getting everyone involved so that everyone quickly connects and participates in the fun activities. The staff is friendly and helpful, and there’s an amazing variety of fun things to do in the area. Highly recommended, and kudos to Henry, his team, and the entertainment staff.

The only Dutch/Belgian campground that isn’t like that....🤓🤙👍 Really nice people, no noise despite lots of young people... warm welcome, etc. Not cheap, but not expensive either. And plenty of space left in July. Nice touch—a small swimming area in the river where no one is around in the morning (so you can swim in peace—though it’s shallow)—and after morning activities and/or sleeping in, the kids chill there in the afternoon. But even then, there’s plenty of room in the water. Warm, sunny spots, but you can always find shade thanks to the many small trees. The sites are spacious enough and usually have a flat area. Our large RV with an awning had plenty of room and was almost level right away. In short, no complaints, because the restrooms are also simply well-organized. Early in the morning, it’s dead quiet—no screaming little kids (lovely😊; we know all about that). Keep up the good work. We’re staying an extra night on our road trip.

A perfect campground with all the amenities, yet it still feels like you're out in nature. It also has a natural swimming area in the river, built in the most environmentally friendly way possible.
