Slow Lodge - 5 persons

This campground is very misleading, both on the camping.fr website and upon arrival, compared to what’s advertised.
When we arrived, there was no electricity because the hot tub had tripped the circuit breaker, but it was left that way—so it was very hot when we got there, and the same went for the fridge... Luckily, it was fixed quickly, but … the heat was still there... We had to crank the AC all the way up to cool down the bedrooms before bedtime, but the big downside was that there was no outdoor dining table, so we spent the entire vacation sitting in the cold under the AC indoors—how sad to be forced to eat inside during a summer vacation in the south... There was supposed to be a dishwasher, but there wasn’t one… An ant infestation inside—the window let in daylight, so we had “company” every day... The AC started leaking... The bathroom was tiny; it was impossible to tie our hair back without bumping elbows, so we had to get ready outside the bathroom... The hot tub control stopped working after just one use; we had to stick our hands inside the mechanism if we wanted bubbles. The replacement control was delivered, but supposedly to avoid bothering us, they didn’t come to install it... How reckless, especially since we have a 4-year-old... The campground wasn’t even kept clean; weeds were growing onto the paths, so the cars were scraping against them... Extension cords everywhere—even on the stairs—with electrical connections that looked dangerous… what a hazard… The campground map says there’s a pool, but upon closer inspection, it’s actually the municipal pool… When we arrived, we were told there was a schedule of campground activities, but in reality, the few events that take place happen in town, not on the campground grounds... It’s a very small town with nothing to do...
The campground is rated 3 stars, but I don’t see how it could possibly deserve even one. Admittedly, according to the campground staff, it was recently taken over—it had been neglected... But how can they charge such exorbitant rates for a campground that still looks abandoned, with no activities… It’s a campground meant for retirees or people passing through for one night—but that’s it… To call it “family-friendly”—sorry, but with a 4-year-old, I don’t see what there is to do. Even the crepe food truck closes at 9 p.m., so we never got to enjoy the campground’s only “event.”
In short, this is definitely not a campground for a vacation—unless, of course, you absolutely love doing nothing—otherwise, avoid it at all costs! We ended up leaving four days earlier than planned. Read more Show less

I’ve never seen anything like it—and given how crowded it is, they’re converting the tent and RV sites to make way for mobile homes

Although there is still room for improvement, the hospitality lives up to the manager’s reputation—she’s very friendly and accommodating:

. In any case, the location is convenient—just a stone’s throw from town and a 5-minute drive from the ocean.

Great campground—the staff is welcoming and attentive. We arrived—I’m currently 7 months pregnant and traveling with two children. They let us choose our own spot so we could find the shaded one that suited us best, and when we were packing up to leave, they gave us a bottle of ice-cold water—and for those little touches alone, I’m incredibly grateful to them.
